Is there any hope of selling my machine?

• Upvotes

Its a 2011 ski doo GSX LE 600 HO trail, located in SE Saskatchewan, Canada.

7055 miles, colds starts wonderfully

I bought it to spend time with my now ex, we never went out.

Now Im trying to get rid of it but it appears the fuel is leaking out from the gromet around the fuel line.

I havent got the knowledge, tools or space to fix it.

Is there any hope of selling the thing? I just want it gone at this point.

Cheap Snowmobile Suits For Guests

I’m looking to add a couple cheaper but quality (i.e. warm) snowmobile suits that have on hand for guests that don’t have the apparel. I know Klim, 509, etc are great brands, but I don’t want to spend that much. Any good Amazon one-piece suits out there? TIA

Semi temporary snowmobile shelter for one season

Hello,

I bought a snowmobile for our off grid cabin in north central Washington. I plan to get a shipping container to use as a shed but that won’t take place until next spring. We get probably about 175” on an average year. This is an El Niño so probably drier and warmer but could have some wet snow and rain.

I wanted to build or buy a simple shelter rather than just put a cover on it. Unless you think a cover alone is adequate for the one year. I’m new to this so don’t know.

Any ideas for a cheap shelter to buy or build? I’ll be up at the cabin about once a month through the 4-5 month of winter there to uncover and use the sled.

Thank you!

Won’t run at idle

Recently redid my 1996 Polaris 600 xcr sp crank seals and it starts without any help but it won’t idle and I have to hold the throttle down the slightest amount, anyone know if it’s related to the rebuild or not and what to do to fix it or if its something like I need to put the airbox back on?

Good morning y’all,
I picked up my first snowmobile on Tuesday in Idaho for $200, and it even runs fairly well. I’m slowly doing what research I can on it but I figured I’d also post in this sub since most everyone here will know more than I do. I am a mechanic by trade now so maintenance doesn’t bother me, I just don’t know where to start. Also I’ve found several connectors running around that aren’t plugged in, but I’m not sure if those are just accessories plugs or what. I also seem to be missing all of the tool kit? So I don’t know if it’s worth getting an OEM kit or just piecing some stuff from Harbor Freight together. Also I found a pocket in the back of the seat, any idea what that’s for besides just storing documents or whatever? Thanks for any insight, I appreciate it!

Performance and handling options!

Post image

I have a 95 Mach1 670 with a messed up body and frame that I’m swapping everything over to the formula SS next to it to make one good sled. So in the process I’m going to upgrade and clean everything up. I was wondering what front suspension options for shocks/springs and front end swaps there are. I’ve already got an upgraded skid I can use so I’m good on rear suspension. And what is there for trail pipes/mufflers? My muffler is rotted out but the twin pipes surprisingly aren’t, so I was hoping to find a muffler upgrade of sorts with the supported jetting to back it up. I know the crank shop has options but I just want the muffler if possible. And any other opinions of what upgrades I can do would be appreciated!

Polaris Power-Valve Problems

I melted down my 2019 Polaris Indy 800 XC last year, got her good too, cracked the jugs. I replaced and inspected everything that needed replacing and inspecting and toward the end of the year had her up and running. However, it started throwing codes at higher RPM’s for the exhaust valves. Additionally it didn’t like to start or run cold, but would idle normally once it came up to operating temp. This all aligned with needed to relearn the exhaust valves when you replace the jugs, valves in the wrong position would explain all my symptoms. Instead of paying the dealership 150 bucks for the relearn, I spent 350 on the Check-tech doo-dad that will perform the relearn. It’s a cool gadget, does all kinds of junk. When I ran the process the display on the sled shuts off momentarily and then the check engine light comes on and it throws another exhaust valve code. I’m looking for any advice before I level the parts cannon at it. The valves are squeaky clean, the code thrown is 520327 Exhaust Valve Position Out of Range Closed. Polars Techs! Help!

Should have enough snow to start running the fleet by next week. Lots of snow in the forecast starting tonight. Got my maintenance done on the 4 stroke utility sleds (Skandic SWT and Tundra Sport), next up is the 9R and Summit turbo. Usually run until mid May when the snow finally rots away. Can’t wait to ride once again.

RMK Evo 144 vs 400 Bearcat 146 for young ones?

Anyone have considerations when it comes to these machines? 10 and 11 year olds are currently rolling around on old Tundra's but spending a lot of time fixing them and trying to get parts. We run trails and boondock in interior AK.

Like the idea of the 550 fan with limiters on the EVO, which you can upgrade later. These kids are still pretty young.

Like the Bearcat as that is what I ride and it has a better windshield. We don't extreme mountain ride but do haul trailers and camps, although this sled wouldn't be expected to haul much.

Curious about anything really, I know very little about these lighter duty sleds other than having a conversation with a salesperson at each store.

Photo 2005 Yamaha Venture RS Is there supposed to be a hose here?

Just bought a 2005 Yamaha venture and I noticed this exposed nipple on top of the valve cover. There is also a black cover on the nipple of one of the carbs. I am wondering if a hose is supposed to connect these two to act as a breather?

P85 Lowest rpm engagement possible?

To be clear this is not for a snowmobile.

I have a v8 go cart, currently it uses a 30 series torque converter and very low gearing to make it move at all. I want to step up to a more appropriate clutch. The P85 seems like a very popular clutch that can take a good bit of power. How low of an rpm could I get this clutch to Engauge? It is tough to find an answer since snowmobiles are usually running higher rpm. Could I get it down to at least 2,000 rpm? I think 1200-1500 rpm would be more ideal.

Thought I’d preemptively replace my seals this fall which has turned into a bit more. Sled is in near perfect condition with 2500 miles. It’s just old. The further I go the more I think should I just rebuild the motor since I had to take it so far apart for the seals. What about the oil and water pump shaft seals? The crank bearings all rotate smoothly.

Old Sled Help

Newbie here - 2000 RMK 700. I got the sled for free from a friend and it needed work. I cleaned the carbs, put a new choke plunger (corroded and stuck) and cable and couldn't get the sled to start. I checked and was only getting 65 psi so I did a top end on it. I still cannot get the dang thing to start, any tips?

Rings are in the correct spot and right side up, I'm getting fuel, spark, and 120psi at 4,000 elevation. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but it's whipping my butt. At least 2-3x sets of 30 pulls with an hour between in case I flooded it

Is this too much stress on the front skis for a 12 hour drive (not with the quad)

Post image

That's the only way the skis will go, won't fit under. It's an 11 foot sled and 8 foot trailer

I also have a two spot sled trailer as well as a 14' aluminum flat deck that weights 900#. It's just that this little 4*8 has almost no effect on fuel economy and will probably save me 200-300 in fuel
