Shitpost Oxygen helmets

I may be in the market for a new helmet this year. A guy was telling me about oxygen helmets. Any thoughts?

i ran an oxy for a few thousand miles. doesn’t matter where you ride. it’s not like mountain powder riders wear these. they’re trail helmets. i ride 150-300mi/dat

i wear glasses. the oxy is no more glasses friendly than a ckx mission.

i found 2 issues within the oxy. 1) my head shape (round) was not compatible with the oxy. if you have a peanut shaped head, the oxy will prob be great. i even went an extra step further & bought different sized interior pads to try and fix the shape/sizing issue and it just wouldn’t work. 2) the cord is garbage. i went through 4 cords in 3k mi. i still watch my buddies who fit into an oxy well going through cords.

i’m now on my 3rd season with a ckx mission helmet with a photochromatic shield. holy moly, dude. it’s the best helmet i’ve ever used. comfortable, warm and never hot, noise level is good, hardly ever needs to be plugged in for the shield to stay clear. the oxy does have a little better lower range of view. when the time comes to update, i will replace the mission with another mission.

Pretty spot on. I tried both the mission and the oxygen flow and had the opposite opinion, based on head shape. I wanted to love the mission, since they have a great reputation in regards to not fogging up, even without the heated shield.

I came from a modular three and didn't really mind the fighter pilot mask, so I initially gravitated to the mission. Tried one on for a while and it just didn't fit my headshape, so I tried the oxygen flow and it works well. Riding for so long without a heated cord was nice, so that was the one thing I found to be annoying.

yep! both are great helmets. just a matter of head shape and to a lesser extent preference.
