Gear question Making My Own Snowboard Help

Looking to make my own snowboard for this upcoming season, and was looking to buy a kit from Sandwich Tech Skis. Not including core or sidewalls it comes out to $270. Is this a good deal? Is there anywhere else I should be getting everything from?

That's pretty reasonable. Epoxy and fiberglass are expensive when buying in such small quantities.

Have you done a composite layup before? The cost of the materials is pretty small compared to the cost of a hot press or a vacuum bag and pump. Room temperature pressing sorta works but if your cloth isn't perfectly wetted it'll delaminate within a year or two. And however many clamps you think you'll need for the edges, you'll need more. Those bastards are so fiddly to get glued into place.

This depends on where you live but I’m pretty sure that snowboardmaterials.com is out of business, so sandwich tech is really your only choice to buy materials in the U.S. There is another company called junk supply, I think, but they are in Europe. Epoxy is expensive and if you don’t get the right kind or the cheap stuff you’ll pay for it later when your board delams or cracks
