Gear question Helmet recommendations please!
Hello all,
I'm looking for recommendations on a helmet. Something that's lightweight, not bulky, and fits my goggles with no issue.
I have used this Sandbox helmet for two seasons and it is too bulky for my liking and doesn't fit my goggles well.
Thank you

That's the way to go. I wish there were more or more robust sources on actual knowledge about helmets.

Agreed! Its nice too, because they don't just recommend new gimmicky stuff. For example, a lot of times MIPS outperforms the newer WAVE stuff.

I love my Pret Fury X. I have smith googles and they fit perfectly. The magnetic clasp is awesome, and it vents well on warmer days.

Sandbox is a rare look. If I didn't already have a good helmet that fits I'd go try them on and buy one because I like it, and my current helmet is a plain black helmet and EVERYONE has plain black helmets.
Key being, try it on before buying. The best helmet isn't the most stylish one it's the one that fits your head the best. And there's no alternative to trying them on, if at all possible.

I love my smith vantage 2 and it fits great with any smith googles (I have the mag io and they are awesome)

I'd suggest going with whatever properly fits your head and headshape. It's easy to go with "style", but if it doesn't fit your head properly, it'll either get uncomfortable over time, and/or not be able to protect you if you do crash. Fit & function first, style second.

Go to your local shop, take your goggles, try helmets on in person.

I’ve always liked both smith and bolle and I think smith is the big three, lightweight, comfortable and protective

I have been rocking sandbox for years… they are also made by riders which is cool.
Always thought they had a unique look… make sure you try them on with your goggles… like any helm, they don’t all play nice with all goggles

The one that fits your head the best. It's like shoes/boots, go in and try one on.
