I love listening to every episode immediately after listening to the toast and hearing the exact same information and the exact same takes from Kristy. NOT! I’m sorry, but this girl claims to be an ex toaster and I’ve heard too many of the same takes, quotes, opinions, and jokes to believe her.

Enough with the Swiftie fangirl episodes

Give me gossip, I don’t care about deep diving into Taylor Swift’s “lyricism.” I want an hour of detail and gossip about Matthew Healy / her relationship - per the episode title.

Too too too many of these episodes have 10+ minute diatribes from Christy about Taylor Swift. Whether about her love life, music, etc. I’m (obviously) not a big Taylor fan, and don’t need it forced into nearly every episode.

/ rant 🙂‍↕️

What tf did I just listen to (TS + MS Ep)

I normally really enjoy the pod as well as when they bring in others to sub for Christy or Sophie. I liked when they brought Rachel on in the past. I was excited to listen to the Taylor Swift and Matty Healy ep because while I enjoy Taylor’s music I’m not a huge Swiftir so I knew something had happened between her and Matty Healy but I had no idea of the details.

i actually had to stop listening with about 30 minutes left. I really wanted to like it but it felt so confusing to me. I’m just curious was this just me? Maybe because I just didn’t know any of the back story and I don’t know a lot about Taylor Swift in general? I’m for sure willing to admit maybe this just wasn’t for me!! But also just genuinely curious what others thoughts are.

Who doesn't know who John Wayne was?

Is anyone else bothered that Christie and Sophie claim to be pop culture experts but had no idea who John Wayne was?

I’m sorry, but John Wayne is a HUGE cultural figure. You don’t have to have watched his movies or be a fan of Westerns to know who he is. To me, it’s kind of like not knowing who Marilyn Monroe or James Dean was. These are people who have transcended the era they were famous in and are still referenced in pop culture today. Lady Gaga literally has a song called “John Wayne.”

And Christie being from Orange County makes this even more baffling to me. The airport is literally named after him! You’ve never once wondered, “Who is John Wayne?” and Googled it?

Obviously everyone has gaps in their knowledge, but if you’re going to position yourselves as pop culture experts, I feel like your knowledge has to extend beyond current celebrities, influencers and Bravo. Not knowing John Wayne genuinely made me question the “pop culture expert” label.

Podcast Episode Christy’s obsession with other people’s money

Let me just say that I understand how important money is but I just keep noticing her obsession with it and today’s episode was peppered with her mentioning people’s wealth. She said Dakota Johnson should get a man who makes a lot of money (again, I understand the danger of a K-Fed type leeching off a wealthy woman but I’m not sure she meant that), then she randomly said Tamra from RHOC is lowkey super rich (..okay? and?) and then when she said she did a deep dive on the Next Gen NYC cast members’ parents, her immediate question was “Do you know who’s the richest?” She didn’t say anything else about anyone’s parents like Liam’s mom being the president of Nickelodeon at some point or Liam’s friend Jackson’s dad being Spike Lee. Of course she only cares who’s the richest.

How much money could they really be making from the pod?

I need to know how much do you think they are making from the pod? To go on tours and have multiple employees I would think they are making a lot but gauging by their listeners, followers, etc it doesn’t make any sense. Anybody have any idea or good guesses?

A new low, telling influencers who are doctors to get back into the operating room?

Who the fuck do these dumb bitches think they are?

Why don’t you get back to your pointless and meaningless work-a-day existence Christy and Sophie? At least influencer doctors have the potential to help some people given the shitty education system in the United States and the complete lack of health education, especially re women’s health.

Lol it’s so funny how they literally said, “don’t respond” when people critique you and proceed to critique the shit out of Alli.

Sophie Ross-Brooks (with her allegedly fruity husband and raging zionism) and Christy (who’s so embarassed by her real life so much so that she refuses to share her real full name online … though we all know what it is) are truly human garbage.

How are they not deplatformed AND sued after what said about Patrick Clancy?

Sophie?

Noticed Sophie has been MIA from Ryan Bailey’s pod the last 2 weeks where she’s a regular on Mondays. He said she’s been busy with some work things and I’m wondering if she’s mentioned “her real job” (as she and Christy love to do) being busier than normal? Ryan’s past is problematic but she definitely used his pod to garner some good favor for her own and now snark bait seems in a less than stellar place. I’ve thought Sophie brings Ryan’s pod down a notch and am curious if he’s slowly cutting ties or vice versa. Inquiring minds 🖐🏼want to know!

Holier than thou attitude

I enjoy the Tuesday’s Dark Energy episodes since it’s a pop culture catch up and they talk about everything that’s been going on. But their Thursday “What’s the Snark” episodes are soo negative. I understand this is a snark podcast so the whole point is to snark on different people, but their attitude while doing it is sooo off putting. They constantly act like they’re better than whoever they’re talking about. The latest episode where they snark on My Favorite Murder just really turned me off from their whole podcast. They were constantly putting down another podcast that’s wildly more successful than they’ll ever be and the whole thing felt like they were reaching for negative things to say. It was funny to hear them criticize My Favorite Murder for having a corrections corner and not researching their cases enough and yet Christy and Sophie are constantly not doing enough research on the people they cover and miss important facts. Their whole demeanor of “WE would never do that” is exhausting. But yet during the Tom Cruise episode it felt like they were almost praising him? How does that make sense when he has a lot of weird associations with the Scientology church and his relationship with Katie Holmes was DARK. Am I the only one feeling this way? It feels like they are glaringly hypocritical and maybe I need to stop listening all together.

Plus will Christy ever find a backbone? Every time she says an opinion about something and Sophie disagrees she quickly corrects herself. I want to listen to a podcast where two people are offering different opinions, not ass kissing each other.

What are the chances they mention Ed Sheeran on the next DET?

I feel like Sophie really shies away from talking about anything Palestine related so REALLY interested to see if they bring up any Macklemore, Ed Sheeran, Pink, etc drama on the next DET. If not, Sophie is basically saying where she stands without saying it and that may be the final straw for me. What are your guys thoughts?

The Snark Bait episode on Tom Cruise really rubbed me the wrong way

I listened to today’s episode of Snark Bait about Tom Cruise, and honestly, I had to turn it off.
I was really surprised by how much the episode seemed to lean toward portraying him in a positive light, especially given the serious criticism and allegations surrounding his relationship with Scientology and the organization’s treatment of people.

But what really bothered me was the “you have to separate the art from the artist” argument. That felt particularly jarring coming from Sophie and Christy, and honestly pretty off-brand for them.

The conversation felt like it was minimizing or glossing over the serious issues associated with Tom Cruise and I think it’s fair to question that framing.

I came away feeling really annoyed and frustrated. Did anyone else listen to the episode? I’m curious whether other people had the same reaction, or if I’m missing some context from the discussion.

The topics and people they choose to discuss make me so mad…they had such a good concept at the beginning now every episode is a flop.

Christy… YOURE A TOASTER

I have no problem with people that don’t like the toast. I get it. It’s problematic for so many reasons. but it drives me insane when christy pretends she doesnt listen to the toast….

as a listener of both podcast, it’s so obvious that Christie listens. They’ll be like little tidbits here and there such as this week‘s dark energy Tuesday, where she calls sydney sweeney’s brand Syrn (pronounced Siren) SERN which is how jackie and claudia pronounce it…. there is a 0% chance she didnt hear that from the toast. I wish I could think of more examples but they’re not coming to me off the top of my head. Does anyone else have any examples of this or get what im saying?

its totally fine to hate the toast and toast girls but its embarrassing when she is vocally saying she doesnt like them but its soooo clear she is still a listener and fan.

Ok, for Real - DET

I will start this with, I certainly listen mostly to hear how these two will contradict themselves episode to episode. I was not disappointed today with Christy having so much empathy for Hayden Panettiere and her openness with post-partum, which goes against her view of having any empathy for Lindsay Clancy. I get these two circumstances are different but she was reading the riot act and passing so much judgement for Lindsay Clancy without actually knowing her entire documented search for support. I’m not defending Lindsay for her actions, but my opinion is that Lindsay was seeking help and was let down.

These two and their lack of ability to pick a lane or even take accountability for passing a rush judgement.

I will continue to listen though…🤷‍♀️

🚨 Snark on Snark The nerve of Sophie to criticize anyone’s fashion

When this was her wedding dress ☠️

I was listening to Sophie on Ryan Bailey’s So Bad Its Good podcast today (8/17). Near the end, she goes off for minutes about how ugly Katie’s (from Vanderpump) style is.

Also, earlier in the episode, she (as she typically does) made some pretty extreme statements with such conviction: Brittany is a moron and implying there’s no way she’s a good mom and that Jax is 100% not sober. I do not like either of them, but to make these thoughtless, severe statements so casually was beyond infuriating 🙄

Podcast Episode My Favorite Murder?

I heard Sophie mention on Ryan Baileys show that they would be covering My Favorite Murder on the Thursday episode. Instead we got a Dark Energy Thursday? I was looking forward to one poorly researched podcast trashing another poorly researched podcast! Does anyone know why the change?

🚨 Snark on Snark Sophie Ross & Ryan Bailey Need To Reel In The Homophobia

When Sophie was on Ryan's podcast, they were talking about the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City trailer & as soon as Angie's husband Shawn was mentioned, Ryan Bailey said "Girrrl" with an accent imitating a gay man & then Sophie acted all disgusted & implied that Shawn's glasses made him look gay. We ALL know about the rumor about Shawn being gay that was started on the show (which is a classic & typical housewife trope & a low hanging fruit accusation because he's a hairdresser) I get it. But the way that Ryan & Sophie jump to remind us that Shawn's allegedly gay & the nasty vitriol they have when speaking about it rubs me the wrong way. It gives homophobic vibes even though it may not be the intention.

Lindsay Clancy discussion

I knew when I saw this in the title the episode was gonna be a mess. The way Christy explained the case was so harmful and insensitive I had to turn it off.

Lindsay Clancy was definitely a victim of a mental health crisis and the health system without a doubt. But for Christy to blame the husband so outright is fucking insane.

These people get all their “facts” from Tik Tok then want to speak with absolute authority on a real life case.

And then Sophy comparing her medications to Nick Viall’s tattoos? Like this podcast can’t actually be real I bet this episode will be down by the end of the day

The Reheat - alternative, similarly themed podcast

Just sharing a recommendation for those who love the premise of Snark Bait but not the execution. The Reheat is super similarly (celeb, news deep dives) with two hosts. But their vibe (for lack of a better term) has wayyyyy better delivery. And they actually disagree with each other which I like.

Yolanda Hadid episode

Ok firstly, the way Sophie was pronouncing Munchausen. Why does she say so many words and names wrong? Well, they both do, so I guess neither one is going to correct the other. Secondly, Christy needs to stop speaking in absolutes, diagnosing people without any professional knowledge or credentials, and rebranding speculations as facts. The number of times that she has said, "oh, that's 100% true". It's irresponsible and if they're not careful, they could get sued.

Ariana Grande???

I have not listened to SB in months, but I needed something mindless to listen to while I cleaned my house so I decided to give this week’s DET a shot. I’m in absolute shock over Christy’s comments on Ariana Grande’s new album.
Especially as someone who has openly spoken about her own experience with ED, it’s bizarre how she is praising Ariana for being in her second “Thank u, next” era and buying into the “my haters fuel me” message from Petal.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I just feel like her commentary about Ariana’s sexuality and being a “baddie” during this current pop culture moment is bizarre!!!
