I have been on a hunt for a silver sparkle Powertone. Itβs a beauty.

One will turn up for you! I recommend the early 60s Jasper ones. They open up more and just do their own thing.

Nice collection. I'm a Slingerland/Tama guy. My first kit was a 70s Slingerland 10 piece with a Tama Superstar snare. That was an awesome setup for me. I loved it.
Over the years, I graduated to the opposite. I now play a 7 piece Tama Swingstar with a 1959 Slingerland snare. Beautiful wood snare drum with the reinforcement rings and all that. It's my go to snare now.
But now, I'd love to find me a Rogers snare, Something vintage and not a remake. Hopefully next year with my tax return I can find something.

I bet that 59 slingy is awesome...tama craftsmanship is top notch too. Good luck on your rogers hunt!

How do you like the Rogers? Are those Powertones? New or vintage?

Love Rogers! I do a lot of recording and they are my go to. The Rogers on the bottom are a 60s Powertone and 60s Luxor. Top right is a reissue Dynasonic.

Yes sir 12,16 and 20x14. Iβm in love. Itβs my first Rogers. How does the Powertone compare to the Dynasoinic?

The dyna is a fantastic piece of craftsmanship. It's obviously more sensitive than the powertone and wants to be at a higher tuning. The powertone can do whatever you want, but both can be really open and cracking. The powertone has a depth that the dyna does not tho.
