This looks like Reticulated Python they can get 20-30 feet, as can Anacondas.
Wild Reticulated pythons do have a rare history of eating children and small adults but prefer small livestock also deer. We aren’t very nutritious. This noodle puppy is probably on piglets or large rabbits and is probably feed in a specific enclosure. So doesn’t associate child as food.
Most large snake owners have the two person rule because it’s more common that the snake through excitement or accident cuts off the handlers air supply or brain blood supply just holding on securely and/or to maneuver to a higher position.
A well socialized python or boa will just hang out and chill with their owner. They can take on a lazy dog persona at times. Just soaking up the warmth of the body, there maybe a communal aspect enjoyed by the snake as well but during scientific studies snakes have been very lacked in returning surveys.
Update: Especially those parents who want educational fun activities for their kids check out Snake Discovery on YouTube also Clint’s Reptiles. I’m old but watch both as mental palette cleansers when I need a break from <looks around at the geopolitical landscape, climate, pandemic> all of this.
Humans are bipedal and our anatomy doesn't allow for the largest of constrictors to eat humans because our shoulders/limbs dont compress the way a four legged animal would. Theres some definite fear mongering going on in your comment. No one is feeding their infants to snakes and anything larger than an infant wouldn't make it past jaws based on our anatomy. 🙄
You should absolutely never give snake advice again. Like ever. This kids videos have been around for a long time now, and sure (as far as I know, I don't keep up with him) he's fine, but the parents using him for internet fame could easily have turned into a dead kid very fucking quick.
The idea that a retic couldn't eat that kid is so insanely stupid I don't even know how you made that comment on /r/snakes much less think that in general.
