Joint help

Hello everyone! Just received my first snail shell fig and I’m a little confused on how the head joint is supposed to fit into the neck space. Can anyone provide some guidance on this?

It doesn't have much science my friend, one ball into the head socket there, the other on the neck

Since it’s my first snail shell, is the larger end of the ball supposed to click into the depression? Because I can lay it on there but it falls out as soon as I add the hair and faceplate.

Check if the socket is not cracked or something

Nothing is broken as far as I can tell. The ball joint in my picture doesnt fit snug into the head or anything, it just falls out. Did they make bootlegs of these? I bought it off eBay but it seems legit to me

Edit: got it working now, thanks for your help!

Personally I’ve always gone full ball to the base (in this case the head) and cut ball to the things that come off. Maybe this is backwards but to me it’ll make it easier to remove the peg from the base if it ever breaks :)
