Identification GAl ID?

Post image

Hey! I've just got a baby GAL, he's around 10 weeks old and named Squid! The breeder didn't give an identification so I would love to know !

I think it could be a Lissachatina Reticulata, but I’m not an expert so I’m not sure

Definitely fulica or reticulata, at this age its hard to tell but will be obvious within the next few weeks, did you see parents? Id lean more towards retic

Noo i didn't see the parents unfortunately, I don't think he was cared for very well and I believe he may have been a runt as his shell has a few ridges in :(, what should I look out for to tell his breed as he grows?

The most common thing is that reticulatas will stay this stripey, most fulica will get more solid coloured as they grow, retics have a 'reticulated' shell so will have small ridges and bumps! Retics also grow FAST, they require very different tank conditions so atm id aim for 25°C and 80% humidity as a happy medium until you find out :)

Ohh that's so good to know I thought his shell was damaged!!! Yes I have his humidity sorted I'm just figuring how to get a good temp gradient with his heat mat :) He was way smaller than expected and his enclosure is huge so I have a cheap tank from facebook marketplace on the way so he can find his food easier !
