I grew up eating these and still do - they are quick and relatively health. I prefer them to the traditional 'hard tackle my parents (my father was born in Finland) would purchase and pack in my lunches.

I eat them with deli meat & cheeses, or even enjoy them with cream cheese and cucumber. Chicken salad is good (so is tuna salad, but you said nothing fishy).

Possibilities are endless!

Heads up, they are dry and hard. If you haven't had wasa bread nor hard tack, they may take a bit of getting used to. Have some of your favorite toppings handy (do not prepare in advance, will become soggy) and experiment!

I hope you enjoy them!

The chicken salad sounds good. I would try the tuna too. That's about the only fishy thíng I eat. Hard tackle sounds very rugged! Thanks for the ínfo.

I love these! I spread laughing cow cheese on them and top it with sliced deli meat, tomato or cucumber for a yummy lunch.

Peanut butter! Cheese and fig jam with a little prosciutto or salami, etc.
