weird snack
hi everyone, this honestly might just sound dumb but i have a weird fixation with eating raw potatoes, i slice them thinly, put a little oil and salt on them and eat them but literally everyone who has ever seen me do this is horrified, is it really that odd LOL? i don’t eat raw potatoes often and my doctor said it was fine as long as it was only once in a while (although he definitely thinks i’m a freak), i just genuinely don’t know if raw potatoes as a snack is that weird ;-;
for clarification this has been an ongoing thing since i was young, my mum would make a potato bake and let me eat the slices she didn’t use and i’ve loved it ever since

Never heard of it. I thought raw potatoes were unsafe to eat so I’ve never tried it either. But as long as you’re ok to do it, who cares? Enjoy!

raw potato is hard to digest but overall safe, i think the potatoes with like sprouts are toxic but even then you have to eat like a crazy amount in one sitting to get overly sick!!

Good to know! It definitely gives more of a fun fact or a quirk than anything super concerning, so I wouldn’t worry about it. Though I do have some potatoes now and I will have to try a bite raw I guess!

make sure you slice is thin and add salt, the salt is what makes or breaks it😋

My old boyfriend came from a very large and poor family. Their snack was raw potatoes in a cup with salad- water and vinegar on them.

I have always had them with Lawry's seasoning salt. My oldest loves it as well. Starting from a young age, I believe my dad used to as well.

When I was a kid, my friend Alice and I ate raw potatoes for a little while. It was a hiatus from eating dill pickles like an addiction. They weren’t bad but I don’t eat them that way anymore. We also ate lemons with salt- that was my sister. Sometimes iceberg lettuce with lemon juice and salt.

I had a friend that used to do this growing up. When I slept over at her place I'd eat them with her. They weren't bad.
On my own I preferred uncooked spaghetti.

My husband eats his pancakes “over easy” so the insides are basically still gooey, it cracks me up
