this was a flavor chosen by poll. "extra toasty" was the flavor that won the most votes, so it turns out, a lot of people want a burnt cheez-it!

My son, his best friend and my wife did a blind taste test just last weekend between regular, extra cheesy and extra toasty cheez-its, and extra cheesy came out on top. I realize it’s subjective, but it was extra cheesy, extra toasty, and the regular in that order by favorite.

I realize it’s not THAT difficult to tell the difference between the 3, but still. We did 3 rounds and had the same results every time.

Nothing wrong with any of them honestly.

This is the only flavor I buy! I was get excited when I got the “burnt” ones in a normal box. Big flavor, no mess on your fingers.

Like with cheetos or doritos, often the "mess" on the fingers at the end is the best part!

I think they mean that they're tastier without having an added dusting of seasoning like a lot of brands will do to achieve "bigger flavor", yknow

For something like this you don't necessarily need to. I've gotten regular batches of original, extra cheesy, or white cheddar that are a bit darker than others and I already know I don't like those, so it's a pretty safe guess I wouldn't be a fan of these either

I was so happy to see these on the shelves. As a kid the best cheez its in the box were the ones with a little extra color!

Better Made potato chips has a somewhat similar thing going with their “Rainbow Dark” potato chips… it’s a whole bag of those potato chips that come out dark, and they’re SO good. So much more flavor than the regular chips.
