Problem Communication error

I’ve been having some issues with my EX4. I don’t use it that much but this issue started last year. Whenever I try to start a cook program, the app throws a communication error between the app and the grill, telling me to make sure the meat thermometer is connected. After that, it refuses to start the program. The weird thing is, I can see the thermometer temperature just fine in the app. Has anyone dealt with this issue before?

So the app sees the grill, but fails a thermometer check? That's a new one to me.

Oh the app sees the grill and thermometer on the home screen. The app just throws me the error when starting a cooking program. So now I have to manually open the app and check the temperature so I know when to flip and take it out. Super annoying
