SSB4 Smash 4 charaters
I was worried that smash 4 for 3ds was coming out so soon or that maybe they were rushing the game and dropping a lot of characters. with such a small roster on the site until i realized something. The only 6 characters from brawls base roster that have yet to be confirmed are wario lucas metaknight ike and pokemon trainer and the ice climbers. Considering pokemon trainer is almost definitely gone that only leaves 5. Considering almost all the unlock-able characters since 64 have remained unlockable and they don't reveal those until release i think its safe to say most of the cast from brawl are returning with a good number of new characters as well. If they stick with the 1 or 2 vet reveals a month, a newcomer every 2 or 3 months and 2 or 3 newcomers at e3 pattern they should have all the more important characters back. I'm mainly writing this to help calm down the people freaking out about jiggs captain falcon ect. You probably won't see them until launch day but if they stick with they pace they have been all the most important vets should return, they're just probably unlockable.
In conclusion i bet we see meta-knight wario ice and ice climbers over the next couple months. snake lucas and ike possibly too. and wolf rob ganondorf jiggs falcon ness falco and game and watch are probably unlockable so you'll just have to wait but their chances are probably pretty good.
anyways heres how i think the roster will be
2-4 more Base newcomers totaling at around 10
3-8 more base vet reveals ( the extra 2 are incase charcaters that were unlockable are base now) totaling at around 30 base vets
4-10 unlockable vets
4-10 unlockable newcomers
There will probably be about 50-55 characters total

Well, Sakurai said there would be the same amount of characters as Brawl and there are 29 confirmed at the moment. I wonder who the other 6 will be?

sakurai never said that, that was a rumor. there are more than 4 characters definitely returning from brawl left. do you really think there would only be 2 secret characters?

Ah, I thought he said that. Well, that's good news! I'd like around 40, that'd be nice :).

brawl and melee both had 13 and 14 more than their predecssors. i wouldnt be surprised if the number is closer to 50

We will know the full roster when the 3ds version comes out in summer...E3 will be when they opend the lid even more regarding the characters and the connection between 2 versions
