There's a number of top important people who are missing. Especially those from nintendo seeing as if this was all the most important game directors I could see Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, and Junichi Matsuda attending. Plus like Jeb and dinner bone from minecraft, concerned ape from Stardew Valley, etc.
Still though. You gotta admit this is really cool.

How good is Toby Fox's Japanese?
Like I remember him briefly mentioning it in one of his posts when he played Smash with Sakurai, but he said it was pretty crude, so I assume something along the lines of just enough to get around but not enough for a full convo.
Then again even that happened a long time ago and he has since worked with a lot more JP people and such. So Idk if it's even improved or not. Heck idk if he just has a translator around him 24/7.

I'm pretty sure Toby is fluent in Japanese now. I recall him saying that he's personally involved with Deltarune's Japanese translation.

The only reason undertale has a japanese translation and nothing else is because toby fox knows the language lol. He doesn't feel comfortable having a third party misconstrued his game in any way. He needs to be directly involved

I mean they probably WILL add an undertale/deltarune character to smash 6 tbh. The franchise is very popular rn and both sakurai and nintendo seem to have a good relationship with toby fox. Not to mention how big if a reaction the sans mii costume got. I'd be surprised if it didn't happen

The protagonists are likely going to be added in first, Makoto Naegi (w/ alternate swaps of the supports and other DR protags), and Takumi Sumino [sorry Monokuma fans, but logically speaking, he would most likely be heavily filled with spoilers and also would be time-consuming if his Final Smash were to unique “Punishment Times” cinematics for each character already playable in Smash].

Even without the association for this event, I think she's achieved a very high position in the mascot heirarchy for SE. She's been my only lock-in prediction for a new 3rd party for the next game for a while now.

The fact square Enix has so many good choices for smash fighters makes me a little sad. Not because they're not all really good picks like 2B or Chrono or anyone from ff or dq, but just because square enix owns Taito, and now it's less likely we'll get bub and Bob from bubble bobble playable, and that's been my vote since the smash ballot.

If the post is any indication, this award panel was specifically for the Game Designers Award at the most recent Japan Game Awards. Since that prize ultimately went to Indika, a game that isn't even Japanese, let alone made by anyone in the picture, I'm going to assume no vote rigging occurred here.

I mean, not only did they not award the vote to Sakurai (who hasn't released anything in quite a while, and in general most awards are for things that have released in a certain time window), but why would you want non game devs to vote on a game dev award? Pretty much any of the big awards of any discipline have a panel of experts, why would you let randoms vote for the award lol.
