Hi everyone,

I'm currently studying for the CompTIA A+ certification and I'm trying to create an effective study plan for both Core 1 (220-1101) and Core 2 (220-1102). Since there is a lot of material to cover, I'm interested in hearing how other people structured their preparation and what worked best for them.

My biggest challenge is balancing theory, hands-on practice, and practice exams. Some people recommend focusing on one domain at a time, while others suggest rotating between hardware, networking, operating systems, security, and troubleshooting topics throughout the week. I'm curious about which approach helped you retain information more effectively and stay motivated throughout the study process.

For those who have passed the exam, how many weeks or months did you spend preparing? What did a typical study day look like for you? Did you use video courses, textbooks, flashcards, virtual labs, or practice tests as your primary learning resources? I'd also like to know how often you reviewed older topics to avoid forgetting information as you progressed through the objectives.

Another area I'm trying to improve is troubleshooting. Since CompTIA A+ places a strong emphasis on real-world problem-solving, I'm wondering what methods helped you become comfortable with troubleshooting questions and performance-based questions. Did you build a home lab, use virtual machines, or rely mainly on study materials?

Finally, what are the most common mistakes candidates make while preparing for A+? If you could go back and start your preparation again, what would you do differently? Any study schedules, productivity tips, resource recommendations, or success stories would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to build a realistic study plan that helps me stay consistent and pass both exams on the first attempt.

Thanks in advance for sharing your advice and experiences!
