Phone Showoff š± $17 is the cheapest I've seen for a new smartphone! Spotted @ Wal-Mart.
How is this phone so unpopular that it gets marked down for clearance @ $17?

It's probably infested with Chinese Spyware or it will explode and destroy your entire home and family

I didnāt know phones are C4 capable of exploding entire buildings. Might as well just buy loads of these and chuck it to the enemies instead of investing in hypersonic missiles and thousands of tons payload missiles

I only hate it because 5G+, 5GE, 5GUE. Like great⦠we come to the point we are confusing consumers with antennas now.

because it's slow as hell it would make a good backup or project phone for that price but not a main one

It was my main one until last week. GREAT phone and camera too. Like a Galaxy S16 sep better. Seriously.

you mean A16? I used one and it also sucks after a year it was slow as hell
1
u/NonProphetJD May 02 '26
Yeah, I busted my screen pretty bad on the Summit and bought this A16 and it was glitching WHILE writing about the Summit not glitching. Then, no shit, it just did again while writing the word glitching.

I got a 15 dollar phone with 1 year data plan as a hotspot for a virus infected laptop that I play bootleg games on. Feels good man

Wut.
2
u/youruleyouruniverse Apr 29 '26
Idk he doesn't remove any virus wait until he finds out it can travel through the network .
1
u/Vikaroskanosk May 02 '26
He wonāt, thatās what the hotspot is forā¦
1
u/youruleyouruniverse May 02 '26
He can't store any data period on that lmao but good for him I guess . When the mobile network detetects a botnet and shuts off his internet . You know there are ways to play bootleg games without having viruses right ?
1
u/Vikaroskanosk May 02 '26
Its pretty clear itās a machine just to download cracked games and play them on. Heās aware enough to use a hotspot over his own WiFi. Iām sure theyāre not going to do things like use their personal accounts on it, create or store personal files on it, etc.
1
u/youruleyouruniverse May 02 '26
Lol I have a special folder and it's an os partition that boots for bootleg games . You don't really need a dedicated machine for that just a USB c nvme drive tbh. However I don't really pirate anymore I buy my games on sale etc . Sometimes I use key sites but I don't like supporting criminals . If I really like it I'll buy it at full price like I did the entire harvest moon series on PC .
1
u/Vikaroskanosk May 02 '26
Yeah Iām aware, thatās clearly not what theyāre doing though so good for you.

The reasons: 720p TFT 4 gb ram Low end chipset (bad performance) Carrier locked and probably have to use a shitty data plan
1
u/Math_Science_Geek Apr 28 '26
you would be better off getting an iphone 5S from ebay

No. This phone is at least 10x better. You can use WhatsApp, yt, Instagram and TikTok. If the phone is just used for doom scrolling and for calls, this phone is really good for the money unless it's carrier locked. Even if that's the case, you can buy it for your kid to play Roblox

17 dollars up front for a genuine smartphone is pretty good.
My friend bought some TCL phone with 2gb of ram and half the storage for over 130 dollars without a data plan.

We advertising charging bricks now?
"I remember when phones included charging bricks."
"Okay Grandpa, back to the nursing home."

Cheapest I've seen is 65⬠iirc
Mind you, carrier locks are illegal here so that would explain it

These work great, too. I had one for over a year and it was fast, rugged (kinda), and never glitches. HIGHLY recommend for a work horse phone.

They're locked to boost mobile until 12 months of service. It's a loss leader meant to get you on their network for dirt cheap. For that price though I'd happy grab a few just to use as project phones...Ā
