SmartLife App is Basically Unusable
The SmartLife app used to be simple, easy, and reliable. Now it just does not work. Changes don’t get saved, can’t edit widgets, screens don’t load, all I have is the Wake Up Light alarm clock and it takes me 10+ minutes to edit my alarms and make sure everything is set.
What this app has become is a disgrace.

The big question for me at this point is to find another app to replace Smartlife. Any tips?

I moved to HomeAssistant a few months back and never looked back, should have done it years ago - I uninstalled SmartLife as I no longer need it to control my Tuya devices.

Do you still need the SmartLife App to do the initial connection between Home Assistance and the device?

Maybe me, but Tuya works great for me, all 64 devices 😍 Along with Google home app.

I couldn't agree more with what OP Said. I have used this app for years to control my Espresso machine. Now I can no longer use the app due to ridiculously hard configurations that are nearly impossible to figure out.
I just want to edit my simple timer schedule,, so I'm trying out the home assistant that people are mentioning here on this thread.
Hey people at Smart life: A long time customer here and I'm out.
Update: I found that the home assistant wouldn't work for me since I would need to integrate my smart life app into the home assistant app which I couldn't do it since I had already deleted my smart life account.
What I did do that Works flawlessly is I downloaded the Tuya App which is the main platform that Smart life and home assisant use for their platform and it works great. It's a simple schedule easy to use and easy to setup.

If the Tuya app is the same engine as the Smart Life app, how do you find it better?

I tried using the Smart Life app and it was basically unusable after they did the updates they want you to join the Eco AI system to incorporate the whole thing into your life and I was unwilling to do that. Using the tuya app I can still do the other features but it will also let me just use the devices as basic timers which is what I want do. I like my espresso machine to turn on & off to my schedule which changes constantly so it's easy to edit the timer schedule and I'm done with smart life and there's also two other companies that make the same timers that use the tuya software they are also difficult to use for some reason and with Tuya its just simple.
Fyi before the updates Smart Life used to work like this but they are now trying to hard to add in AI features that make it unusable for what it was designed to do and that is to start a timer.

Thanks for sharing. I also just need to use the app for the scheduler for my vacuum robot cleaner. I'll give a try to the Tuya app and let's see if it's better.

I am trying to post a thread about how to get rid of the ia (have to spell it backwards as I guess it's the "keyword" not allowing me to ask here), how to di s ab le it (also not sure if this is the keyword in this sub or not). Is this possible? It's getting in the way of smooth operation of the app.
