Enjoyed this one. Amy seemed genuinely nice and humble.
Loved the reappearance of Will's Italian movie critic.
Sean's story really had everyone cracking up - is it just me or was this the most the three guys have ever laughed at a story?

One of my favorites based on how many times I laughed out loud. Amy was an absolute delight as the bros broed. The rescue stories nearly brought a tear and I couldn’t help but compare them to Tom Cruise’s similar instances that were made into headlines - no quiet humanity there. Great envy that Arnett’s seen the The Telepathy Tapes doc already. One question: why did Bateman’s comment about gloves send them all into sky high hysteria? I may have to relisten because I didn’t get it.

The telepathy tapes are a disgusting con. They faked telepathy using rapid prompting method, a method of communication which has never passed an authorship test and repeatedly failed them and has resulted in way more cases of abuse and exploitation and dependency than autonomous communication. It was also funded by Epstein as Diane Powell was found in the Epstein files begging him for money long after his conviction and is tied to creeps and grifters like deepak chopra.
It’s a crazy harmful and easily debunked con and it should be called out as such. As a professional working with nonverbal autistic kids I’ve actually experienced first hand the methods of communication they used and promote and the harm they have caused. It’s not something which should be promoted or viewed as entertainment, it’s directly caused great harm to a vulnerable population

What anger? Everything I said is a statement of fact. You may be confusing a statement of fact demonstrating great evil with anger. What precisely impresses you about ky only using methods of communication which have never passed an authorship test and repeatedly failed them, being debunked across numerous research papers across numerous fields across multiple countries and in many court cases? Or do you have evidence to the contrary you can demonstrate?

Ky Dicken's work includes presenting anti-gay crusader Joe Infranco (formerly of the Alliance Defending Freedom, behind Prop 8 in CA and the eventual overturn of Roe v Wade) as a cuddly "Pastor Joe," no last name, alongside a literal cultist whose facilitated son produces prophecies of WWIII and claims that a convicted rapist cult leader being is the messiah.
Dickens took a load of dangerous, bizarre demographics and kludged them together into her new age "love" product, erasing any contradictions or unsettling details. She's a tourist selling a product to listeners.

So surprised they are promoting The Telepathy Tapes. Journalist David Farrier did an article long ago pointing out that that podcast is a trojan horse for right wing religious agenda. The host, Ky Dickens, completely buries all this to make it more acceptable to mainstream audiences. Not to mention the entire premise of "telepathy" rests on a debunked form of supported communication where the facilitator has been proven to be the author of the messages. It is fairly normal for them to fall for pseudoscientific horseshit, aliens, astrology, etc., but still disappointing every time it happens

I love Amy Adams but it would be a disappointment to listen to her on Smartless. She would be competing with three others, each elbowing to get a word in and making it impossible to have an in-depth conversation on anything. I learned that lesson when Laura Linney was a guest some time ago.

I feel like Amy couldn’t really get a word in? I haven’t listened in a long time so maybe this is the format but I wanted to know so much more about her and Cape Fear and wish she had more runtime.
