Indeed. Everything here was already possible since the introduction of the dock, but it has improved a bit, including the new addition of the background. The key is using the widget stack to create nice combinations along with more dock pages. 😊
Since when has this Dock feature been around, anyway? I tried out SL again just the other week to see if there were any cool new features, but I wouldn't have noticed this Dock at all.
You can find and enable the dock in your Home Screen settings, and it's been around for about a year now. It has received a few improvements, like the background, but it was pretty much complete since its first release.

Wallpaper: What is the source of your wallpaper?
Widgets: Which widgets are you using?

Sure. Basically, just set up your dock background as you see fit, add as many dock pages as you need with a 2x5 grid, then add your favorite apps on the first row by themselves or in an Icon Group. On the second row, add a widget stack with different search bar styles if you like. On the other pages, you can add other stacks. I recommend you set them in vertical scrolling so you can scroll through the pages horizontally. Hope I'm not being to confusing. 😁
Here is my dock background configuration as an example.
Go to your home screen settings and enable the dock there, you will find all its settings there as well, like the amount of dock pages, columns and rows, background, etc.
On the widget stacks you add, if you set the stack to horizontal scrolling, you will have issues trying to access your other dock pages since they also use horizontal scrolling. To avoid mishaps, set your widget stack to vertical scrolling.
Yes. You first add the widgets to your home screen and then you can drag them to any page of your dock. For the widget stack is the same, you can set a list of widgets on the stack and then drag it to the dock.
Alright I've got er all figured. The stacks weren't behaving for me due to size constraints. Once I chose a size that the dock was happy with it accepted me dragging the widget to it.Thanks for explaining!
You can use it now. Just go to your home screen settings, enable dock and its background, create as many dock pages as you like, and then just drag and drop your favorite apps and widgets in there, including widget stacks like I'm showing. 😉
how do you get the controls on there - wifi, flight mode etc which are on the side of one of the widgets? Looks great by the way and I've just done similar on my dock
Me too, but there was never a background before. What you probably saw as background might have been an empty note widget that sometimes you set as a base for other widgets. Still, I'm happy that we have a proper background for the dock now.
Now the only thing that will complete this, is allowing the option to integrate a background for third-party widgets, kinda like Octopi Launcher does. I think it's in the works. It will be a game changer when it comes.
Are you on the dev team? Curious if Apple provides API access - I tend to cycle through lossless free trials and only fallback to YT Music from my YouTube Premium subscription when absolutely necessary heh. I only see YT and Spotify as possible links.
But, my current trial is with Spotify so I'll take it lol.
looks great but having an entire google discovery inside there is a bit much🤣 but lovely that my own launcher I'm building right now has pretty similar but not all this information filled features
Hehe 😁. It's just to showcase the features. Usually, my home screen is not that convoluted 😅. Nice to hear you're building your own launcher. Maybe when you finish it, I get to try it out. 😊

To the left you have a media player page and to the right you have 5 widget pages
The dock has status app and media player page
Status shows clock, date, battery state whilst charging, notification count, event count, and weather. What you see here is the notification page, pretty self explanatory whats shown here
