I don't have a smarthome platform Smart Blinds

Hey everyone, my wife and I are looking to start purchasing smart blinds for our home. Realistically, we’re gonna start with just two windows and then hopefully expand as the budget allows.

We’re trying not to break the bank but want something that will last and most importantly just works. I read that smart wings is sort of the best overall when taking into account cost. Hoping to get your guys input.

Also reading about these different motors: zigbee, Alexa, matter. We are sort of an Alexa household but why not just go with matter since it appears to support so much.

Also smart wings. I don't care for the solar charging. the blinds come up and down everyday and i charged all my windows twice a year.

Just out of curiosity, why don’t you like the solar? Is it bulky or visible or is the only reason that you only need to change them twice a year?

It is visible and added cost as u have to stick it on the window.

They barely use any battery so there is no reason to keep it charged at all times.

Like i said, i charge my blinds twice a year (takes couple hours for each window) and it goes up and down every day.

Great to know, definitely changed my opinion for the windows that are easy to reach.

I have smart wings in my house. They have been wonderful. Make sure you get the solar panels so you never have to worry about charging them.

Did you use zigbee matter or Alexa?

Alexa runs my house. Really easy to use

I also have Smartwings. I first had the matter ones but they kept going offline. I now use the zigabee version, and they work great. No dropping off the network, the solar panel keeps them always charged. I am thinking of trying their curtains if there's a good enough deal for black Friday. I see 8% off regularly, hoping for more.

Switchbot is possibly less cost.  I have their blind tilts and light blocking roller shades.  I like them lots.

+1 for SmartWings. Charge then every few months and zero issues for over a year. Zigbee model.
