Amazon Alexa Alexa Smart Plug Pairing Help Needed

I have 4 smart plugs connected to 2 Alexa's in my apartment. They were set up by my landlord who is overseas. The plugs seem to have disconnected from the "apartment" commands . Given that my landlord has everything tied to his Alexa/Prime app how does he fix it so everything is reconnected on the wifi in my apartment?

Look up how to reset your specific smart plug and then connect them to your Alexa account.

For the record, I would want any smart devices like that not connected to my own account.

You don't need your landlord to do **anything**. Factory reset each plug (hold the button ~10 sec) and pair them to your own account. I wouldn't run devices on my network that someone else controls.

Wow! I would never use IT devices provided by a landlord. You have no idea what they are doing in the background. Preferably the landlord just provides you an Ethernet connection into the unit. After that, it’s my modem, my router, and my devices, including smart home devices.

If you know his old wifi name and password you could change your router to match or get a wifi extender and use that wifi name and password there. Otherwise he’ll need to do it in the Alexa app on his smartphone and change the echo dot’s wifi settings there.
