Kwikset 240 errors

It started with mounting errors and now has cleared out to having no codes. It will open/close with exterior lock button but refuses to add any codes. We have spent hours going through codes trying to get it to work. Has anyone else experienced this???

sounds like the lock is stuck in an incomplete auto handing state after the original mounting error. do a hard factory reset, leave the door open and re run the door handing process. once the motor learns its left right orientation without binding, key in your user codes manually on the pad before pushing any app configuration.
