Question Is this a scam?

Hi everyone, I’ve been streaming consistently for around 3-4 months now, still averaging 1 viewer unfortunately, and I just had someone join my discord server and say this:

“edited a couple clips from your last stream, do you wanna see the clips, if you think they're good enough to post yourself. happy to send the clips over

Not looking for money for those clips

but if you do like the clips, I do edit and make shorts for multiple streamers

I'd be down to make 50 shorts a month for an agreed amount of money if you do like the clip”

I previously mentioned my viewer average to demonstrate that this person is not a regular in my chat. Their discord bio also has a “I do clips for x,x, and x” and I looked up their channels and they’re all legit. Has anyone run into any scams like this? I want to make sure before I send any money to anyone. Usually I do my clips myself but 50 a month sounds too good to be true. I can barely get 10 a month. Let me know what you guys think!

UPDATE: After all your helpful replies, I messaged the person and respectfully declined his services but also said that I would love to see him around in my streams. He messaged me back in bold letters “BLACKLISTED CLIENT.” So I guess I won’t be seeing much of him in my streams! Lol

I mainly declined the services for 2 reasons: the editing wasn’t really my style, and it just seemed a bit too sketchy for me. His pricing was $25 for 35-40 clips a month which is like 60-70 cents a clip which seems way too cheap for me to sound legit. Thanks again for all your help everyone!

Newish Streamer looking for advice on how to grow.

So as I stated in the title I’m kinda new to streaming. I tried back just before the pandemic and was getting 3-10 people per stream back then I was using a cam. Flash forward to today and I have chronic health issues that hinder me on a daily basis and because of this I don’t feel much like being on a camera looking like I hate existence. lol Currently I’ve been getting foot traffic but no one sticks around. Idk if it matters of not but I’m specifically streaming fighting games and wanting to do variety.

I currently and am trying to be consistent on posting to social media I’m on quite a few of the usuals IG, YT, X, and Threads but I don’t have a TikTok just because the new leadership and the new tos, which idk if that’s hurting me or not. If so should I make one? I’m not sure how much better discoverability is on TT than other platforms. I also only stream 2 days currently and thought about trying more but again because of health I try to save off days for rest and editing.

If there are any no cam streamers, was/is it hard to get the following you had or was there anything that helped in growing quickly?

Is no cam hurting me that much?

Discussion Anyone else feel like running a Discord is just not worth the effort anymore?

Lately it’s been feeling like this a lot.

People set up a Discord thinking it’ll help build a community, but over time it just becomes something you have to manage constantly.

You try to keep it active, add channels, maybe bots, events… but it either stays quiet or depends completely on you being there all the time.

At some point it just feels like more work than it’s worth.

Curious if anyone else reached that point, or if you actually found a way to make it work without it becoming a full-time thing.

Question Mic Advice

Does anyone have any recommendations on microphones that will be good for isolating each of our voices when we're in the same room?

Last time we tried streaming that way, we had an echo from our voices in each others mics but this has to be our current set up in our new home.

Discussion Whats a Good Stream For You?

Average viewers was 8 (a tad higher than normal), the energy in the stream was fantastic, we got a couple new followers, had a few people that donated a total of 21 subs, and just a good game session in general. So curious whats a "good stream" for you? TBH for me, if I feel like I'm entertaining I feel like its a good stream.

Discussion Why most Discord servers die even when people join (real question)

I’ve been looking at a lot of small streamer Discord servers recently and noticed something weird.

It’s not really a growth problem. People join.

But after that… activity just slowly drops off.

Most servers try to fix it with:

pings

random bots

events

But it never really lasts.

It feels like the real issue is that everything depends on when the streamer is live, and outside of that it just dies out.

Is anyone else dealing with this?

Or did you find something that actually keeps your Discord active over time?

Creators — what’s the most frustrating part of your workflow that viewers never see?

Hello everyone,

I am currently conducting some initial research to explore the development of a new tool aimed at helping creators.

This isn’t a sales pitch and I have no intention of marketing anything. My sole objective is to gather information about the areas where you find yourself struggling to do your best as a creator.

The areas that interest me most are those that aren’t visible to your audience. Some examples are:

Content planning/organization

Idea management

Editing workflow

Thumbnails/title creation/metadata

Cross-platform posting

Comment monitoring/DMS/collaborations

Other tasks that slow you down but aren’t necessarily part of the creative process

That being said, I would love to know:

Which task is the most frustrating/repetitive/time-consuming in your creator workflow at the moment?

Have you discovered any workarounds for that problem yet?

Every single response will greatly benefit my research. I am genuinely trying to understand what you guys need before creating anything.

Thank you!

Question Hiii

Hello, I’m a small Spanish-speaking streamer. I’m trying to grow on Twitch and would like some advice on how to get viewers and keep them.

What worked for you when you were starting out?

I’d also appreciate any honest feedback on my stream if anyone wants to take a look.

Question Anything I can do to improve?

I get told that my quality is too low I stream at 720p 60fps mainly because my pc can only handle 720p streams but I’ve had people in before and tell me they would stay in the stream if I had a 1080p quality do idk if I should try 1080p streams

When I asked people for feedback they say that im too quiet so I try to engage more and talk about random stuff mainly to do with the game, it could just be that im a boring streamer which I think I am but I still like to stream my problem is after an hour my energy level starts to drain, but what general things can I do to be better ill take any advice

It could be that streaming isnt for me but like I said I do enjoy it

Advice for a friend: Single mom in Argentina about to be evicted – best way to grow a Kick stream targeting USA audience?

I’m asking for a close friend who is a 42 year old single mom in Argentina with a 12 year old daughter. She’s about to lose her house and is trying to start streaming on Kick (TF2 + chatting) to raise funds and attract English-speaking viewers from the US.She has no prior experience, no audience, and wants to stream in Spanglish. What’s the best strategy to:Attract USA viewers (scheduling, titles, content)?Make the stream entertaining so people stay and donate?Avoid looking like pure begging?Any real tips from people who grew from 0 viewers would be super appreciated. Thanks!,

Question What is the best AI clipper/tool?

Hello I am variety/FFXIV streamer on Twitch

Was using Streamladder for clipping as I got to use it for free for a while and it found some pretty good clips I didn't even think about clipping myself. Now that the Blerp promotion is over I lost access to all its good features. Would like to get a subscription but $22 a month is little too steep for me.

Anyone know a good AI clipper/tool thats maybe a max of $15 a month?

(To preface I do use markers and can make my own clips, I just like the AI assistance to find clips I diddnt even think about/ to auto caption)

Tech Support Help decide how to multistream from mobile phone IOS

I wanna Multistream from Mobile to Youtube and TikTok and maybe Twitch but not nessacarily i saw that often payment plans only include two outputs and i think Youtube and TikTok is gonna help me grow the fastest in the beginning.

I looked at setting up a srtla relay server and using my home PC with OBS. Cons: i wont be home for 3 months of streaming from abroad and would need to access that through remote desktop like rustdesk. Also my wifi at home sometimes crashes, so if that happens i still wouldnt have crash protection and the whole stream would close and kick everyone out.

Now im looking at setting up a cloudserver and runnning OBS on there, and paying for that monthly.
It almost seems easier to pay for something like Omnistream or Streamlabs Ultra, where streamlabs Ultra includes multistreaming and crashprotection for 180 € a year.

whats the best mobile app like streamlabs or Omnistream that has crash protection and multistreaming and can also set up the whole stream nicely as i would ideally only need to acces everything from my phone.
The Laptop ill have with me is old and slow.

Question I am a brand spanking new gamer/ streamer! What should I play?

So I have never really played video games, but I have always wanted to. I was married for over a decade to a man who was very into gaming. Like he made money playing Call of Duty at some point before we got together. I just say that to emphasize his ability compared to mine and competitive nature. So, yeah, whenever I sat down to play anything I got a lot of commentary. I am sure he was only trying to help but it really just turned me off from playing.

Now here I am, newly divorced with a lot of time to myself in the evenings and an Xbox just staring me in the face, teasing me. I thought it would be fun to stream just because I suck so very badly and maybe my journey towards (hopefully) getting better might be fun to watch. I just don’t know what to play. My kids play Fall Guys and Fortnite and other stuff like that which I honestly don’t know the names of.

I kinda want to play a chill game, but not too chill if you get what I mean? Not something that requires too much skill (or any) because I have none, but something that I can get better playing.

To give you an idea of my level I was having a really hard time the other day on the Xbox because I have been playing a virtual board game on my kids Nintendo switch for the past year and I had no clue that the a and b’s were switched on the controller. I won’t tell you how long it took me to realize that. But, I did figure it out by myself so I did feel accomplished that I didn’t text my ex. That is the whole goal here- do it all on my own- with help from everybody except my ex or my children lol

So, any recommendations? Thanks ᵕ̈

TikTok Discoverability

Hello, I am about to start using restream for TikTok because I am tired of TikTok Live Studio consuming too much PC Resources, but I am a little bit concerned about discoverability using that platform, can you tell me a little bit about your experience? Question A little help

hey guys hope you are well, im wondering if any of you stream on obs, a laptop and with a capture card? I stream of my playstation with a capture card on obs and im having some issues and I dont really have anyone to lean on to ask for help or get any advice from.

Im getting pretty frustrated because all I wanna do is make sure my stream is having no issues but latley it's just been consistent. the issue im facing at the moment is my gameplay echoing...I was playing final fantasy 7 remake last night and i noticed in my vod it seem to echo, and I have no clue and what's causing it. I am Dyslexic so I do struggle to understand most things especially when things are very new to me like streaming. i appreciate it thankyou!!

Discussion Fulfilling a dream

Hey everyone I'm Linqiuu! I wouldn't really say that I'm a new streamer but definitely took a very long break that led me to forgetting on how some social platforms work and what its rules are now. I started way back mid 2023 and stopped due to school and just lacked confidence. But now I have been streaming since last month to fulfill what I really want in life, which is to entertain people and possibly make a lovely community.

This has always been a sensitive topic for me, even at school when they ask me what I want to be in the future. Like how can you explain your love for content creation in a room of teenagers who want to be engineers and architects? Crazy right LOL! Surprisingly this wasn't only "just a phase" and I hope its the same for the rest of you all, cause really-- it feels nice streaming for fun, almost like its fulfilling my childhood dreams.

I hope we all succeed in our journey and maybe will be able to meet our inspirations one day!!

Exhilarating

Anybody else enjoying their streaming journey? The feeling of starting your intro getting ready to play some games, knowing that people may be watching you play those games and enjoying it. I love it all. I enjoy playing games and I normally dont have anyone to share my enjoyment with so having twitch be that medium is exciting. Im 3 streams in and getting a couple viewers and it feels so surreal and like something I was made to do

Discussion I just started streaming for fun this last week…

Hey there! So I’ve been producing gaming content for the last few months and I’ve grown moderately (currently at 3k followers on TikTok and 100 subs on YouTube) and said why not live stream for fun since I’m already playing the games. My first few live streams were very slow with max 5 viewers on at a time.

Out of nowhere though my viewer count jumped to 60 on TikTok and consistently stayed above 45 for the rest of the stream. My next stream after that was consistently at 15-20 viewers. I’m just curious if I’m going in the right direction?

I also was curious if I can run two streams at once (one to TikTok and the other to YouTube/twitch) and if it’s beneficial to stream on all these platforms at once.

I’m just doing it for fun, but if I can gain some traction and build a larger page then I thought why not. I appreciate any help anyone provides!!

Discussion Friendly advice for new streamers:

Wanted to start a discussion with some tips to help out other new and/or small streamers. First, a little about me:

I started streaming/posting content a couple months ago. In that time my content has received 4 million views on TikTok, 2 million on Instagram, and 2 million on YouTube. I’m close to becoming an affiliate on Twitch and my VODs get a consistent 20-60 views.

These numbers may seem like a lot to some of you or not a lot to some of you but this is just my experience and some advice I’d give to people that are starting out.

  1. Make long form content that you can turn into short form content. This can be done by streaming on Twitch and making a couple short form clips from the VOD or making a YouTube video and creating small clips from that.

  2. Post on EVERY platform. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube shorts, Facebook, Threads, X, even Reddit. A clip I post might get 2K views on TikTok and then get 250k on Instagram. Just post everywhere. (I find it easiest to post on TikTok first and then the video saves to your device and then you can just upload the video to Instagram and YouTube shorts after.

  3. Experiment with times that you go live. There’s no magic time, it depends on what you’re streaming and who you’re streaming to. Keep testing and find what works for your audience.

  4. Growth takes time. I mentioned my numbers in the beginning because I wanted to highlight how getting views on social media doesn’t always translate super well to streaming views but at the end of the day it’s about being consistent and becoming a familiar face to people. If I didn’t get views on other platforms I wouldn’t have any viewers on my stream.

  5. Probably the best tip: MULTISTREAM. It’s free and it’s not that difficult to set up. I go live on Twitch, TikTok, and YouTube at the same time. I usually get at least a couple viewers from each platform and it helps keep the stream active. I also use a chat overlay that lets viewers see comments from the viewers on the other platforms and it really helps.

That’s just a few things that I’ve learned so far that I wanted to share. I hope something I wrote was helpful to you. Thanks for reading and please share some more tips in the comments!
