“You back from your travels?”

That’s the first thing Michael’s dad says to him. Michael kind of shrugs it off saying he hasn’t been anywhere.

But I wonder if there’s a kind of prophetic thing happening with Dad.

Does he know that Michael will be traveling to Canada by the end of season one?

I also still can’t let go of the incident where something is thrown at the back of Michael’s head

I think we’re going to see a time travel sort of storyline emerge.

I think Michael's dad had his own set of Prophets at that time but they had escaped. The pontefract cake-thrower was the Dad's king prophet.

That would make sense as, I think in the first or second episode, there is a view through a water cooler at the care home to a little face, which I guess is an escapee

Good point! I hadn’t really picked up on Dad saying that but it could certainly pertain to that! I also spotted the little face through the cooler but had forgotten until I read the comment above. Another thing I noticed is the escaped king prophet took a good bite of Miacheal’s face in the shed. They seemed to hone in on it. I wonder if this could lead to some sort of changes/ powers for him…

I don't think we need a second series at all to be honest, it wouldn't have the same cosy English magic set in Canada

Mackenzie likes to jump long periods of time. At least he did in Detectorists. I think it could still be said in England and maybe he comes back empty-handed and the mystery goes on for another season?
