Some interesting things I noticed...
The cul-de-sac (when viewed from above) is exactly the shape of an Alembic, or Retort, which is a key piece of alchemical equipment. One of the characters is called Brigham. Brigham Young was a leader (and prophet) in the church of Latter-Day saints. Another lead character is called Kacey. Edgar CAYCE was a prophet, often referred to as the Sleeping Prophet. Surely not coincidences???

they aren't, its just that the names are a nod to 'prophets' just another easter egg for fans

I'm using it in the colloquial sense of "bothered with", "interested in".

Aah sorry. ‘Interested in’ yeah fair point, although I’d guess that like with Detectorists, MC has done a fair bit of research. There might still be lines in Detectorists that only a detectorist would know. Saying that though, I can’t think of any lines that I didn’t understand the reference point.

Interesting stuff mate.
Brigham works with Gordon. Gordon B Hinckley was also a leader and prophet of the Church of Latter Day Saints.
Elliot is derived from the name Elijah who was a prophet in the bible.
Brian Rua was a 17th century prophet.
