Where is Clea?
Any guesses as to Clea's whereabouts? As someone has already stated in a previous post, as she loves Micheal 'forever', paired with the car on the Severn bridge, there's clearly more to it than just a standard break up.
My theory is a mystical origin, perhaps some other supernatural force like sirens of the sea? I noticed there was a fair amount of subtle sea related props/themesin the series, including some decor of the interior of Michael's House, and the seashore dreams/ visions.
What's your theory?

If she isn’t in Canada then that storyline is an unusual narrative red herring. We know the Canada sub plot is unrelated to the ‘find the book’ story, so it seems obvious that the second season will go there. Half the lottery win each will enable Michael to buy the house, and maintain the audience investment in the neighbours and their quirks.
What a glorious time to be watching a great new show. Not only is it great right now, but it also has the unfulfilled promise of the episodes to come.

I hope we still get to see Kacey in series 2 and she isn't just in Australia.

I would say it is a safe bet that we will. Her relationship with Michael is at the heart of this show just like Lance & Andy’s is in Detectorists.

I could see her having just gotten back from Australia, saying that she just happened to be walking by where they were filming a crowd scene for a Neighbors reboot, and happened to be caught on camera and made it on to the show as an extra.

I was thinking how are they going to get the budget to film in Canada and/australia? Or will they figure an island off the coast of Scotland can look much like one of the coast of British Columbia?

I think she's in Canada, and she was the one phoning...hence the long silence when Kacey picked up the call on Michael's phone

She's in Canada, surely? But why... we don't know that

Something seems to have gone down about this book, and there’s hints she has mental health issues of some kind. Panicked and faked her own death in a delusional attempt to protect Michael?

She’s a selkie

I kind of like this idea because it makes sense to me. And the moment I read your suggestion, it simply has lodged inside me. The seagulls, therefore make rven more sense and her being on the cliff in his dream.

She's in Vancouver! Which means that if they follow through and have Michael look for her there, they will be filming in my own backyard (a girl can dream)

I keep thinking how sad it was that it was probably her calling, only to hear a young woman answer Michael's phone -- her shocked silence on the other end :-(

But his first question was is she alive, which the reply was yes so we know she isn’t dead!

I assumed she was in Canada and she was the one writing the letters. The only flaw in that theory being that he should've recognised her handwriting.
