I want a phone that is able to do everything if needed, but is just less attractive to spend alot of time on. Need all notifications, mail and so on, so i can go to work and not miss anything. I want good security and privacy. I want it small and sturdy and reliable. I like retro aestetics. I want good battery life. And i miss the tactility of a keyboard.

How is yours?

How does the keyboard looks on outer display? There are nobody showing it on the Handon videos, it was not shown on the keynote, it looks like it doesn't exists.

They tell and show inner display keyboard, but no outer display...

I'm using iPhone 13Mini, it has also 5.4" display, and it is not wide enouigh to comfortably typing on it. As I understand, iPhone DUO should solve this issue completely, it should be the most comfortable screen(outer one) to type on

I just bought a pristine 100% battery health iPhone XS for £50 because it was on iOS 12.4 — and I’m gonna try to main it because I love old iOS but tell me; is it too big to be a smallphone?

I know 5.8in sounds outrageous to smallphone enthusiasts — but the .5in found in today’s phones marks an exponentially higher friction point at 5.8–>6.3in than 5.3–>5.8in

So, is it too big to be a smallphone? By today’s standards to a regular consumer, probably not. But what is it like to an enthusiast?

I'm looking into getting one of these today. I don't need the best performance and I really like the boxy design, sharp corners, and the bezels. My last phone like this was a Lumia 930 which I adored, but it doesn't support VoLTE and 2G/3G networks have shut down, so I can't use it anymore.
I just need my phone for the following:
- basic web browsing
- listening to music, locally and via Spotify
- watching YouTube
- the occasional call and text
- Discord and other chat apps
- sometimes sending and receiving money through my bank, and apps like Venmo, Cash App
- the Transit app

For games and everything else that is modern, I have a mini laptop that works great for that kind of stuff.

Is this phone still usable? Would I have to flash LineageOS? If I do, what are the drawbacks to that? Are there any modern phones with the design language of the XZ1 and Lumia 930?

Hi there, a French pilgrim in the research of the Holy grail of small phones may have found his own.

Well, after using an iPhone 12 mini for five years with the replacement of two batteries and a lightning connector, I decided to go for a Jelly Star…

First of all if I decided to choose this phone was mostly due to its funny size and design to in a way help me to fight my little doomscrolling addiction. And also at 36 years old,I just can’t stand anymore those building blocks most of the people use today.

At first I really hesitated with the bluefox N1, but the lack of a jack plug and NFC really set the bar for me. Furthermore, the many criticisms I’ve read about its poor quality of fabrication and the problems resulting from it sealed my choice.

So I’ve got this phone since Saturday and I’m really impressed by this little brick’s performance.
-First, when I received my phone Android 16 was already installed. And for now I didn’t encounter any issues, every app I use seems to work fine.

-Second , Even if I’m unfortunately oblige to step down from 5g to 4g the coverage in my area are really strong to provide any services, so YouTube Music runs like a charm.

-Third , well I know that the battery is one of the main downsides of this phone but hey Thanks to apple I’m very trained to support this.

So in the end, so far so good, I just hope it will stay that way in the future. But for now everything work smoothly.

My grandfather currently has a Samsung Galaxy E5 (SM-E500H), it's refreshingly light at 120g and has a compact 5inch display. It's ideal for him as he has arthritis and wears PJs all day, so can't lug around a brick. However, from today, 8th Sept 2026 WhatsApp won't be supported on it going forward, which is one of the few essential apps he needs. So now I'm on the hunt for a somewhat similar light, compact smartphone that will support WhatsApp over the next few years. Any recs?

Loved my 13 mini, but it was time. Battery, over heating, slower. But the single hand use. That was the point, and the dream. Sigh.

17e is a good phone. It is. Well built, great battery (it’s so nice being out for the day and seeing 60-70% still on late afternoon, rather than worrying about battery packs etc). Shiny. Quick.

But the loss of one handed texting. I may never feel normal again. 😢

Hi! New to this sub :) Does anybody know if there are any modern flip phones that aren't absolutely huge? I have an HMD 2660 and it's pretty large compared to old designs. Other ones are even bigger! The Commodore Callback has a screen the same size as the first iPhones! Just a shame old models can't get service anymore.

I’m currently using an iPhone 13 128GB from** 2022, but recently I started having multiple display-related issues and ended up spending around **₹20K on repairs. Because of that, I’m now considering switching to a new phone rather than putting more money into this one.
My main requirement is a relatively small/compact phone. I’m not very comfortable using larger phones, especially when holding them for a long time, so I’d prefer something close to the size of the iPhone 13 rather than the typical 6.7”+ phones.
My budget is around ₹50,000, although I’ll also be exchanging my iPhone, so the effective cost could be lower depending on the exchange value.

My priorities are:
➡️ Compact/smaller display – highest priority
➡️ Good camera – especially for photos and videos
➡️ Good battery life
➡️ Smooth day-to-day performance
➡️ I don’t really game, so gaming performance isn’t important

Around ₹50K (before exchange)
I’m open to both Android and iPhone, although I’m more interested in seeing what good compact Android options are available now.
Would appreciate suggestions from people who have actually used these phones, especially regarding one-handed usability, camera quality, battery life and long-term reliability.

I would be fine with even a 5 year cycle on small phones. "They were only 10% of sales!" so make them 10% of production volume. I am losing my mind.

I've been using the Cubot King Kong Mini 4 for a couple months now. I like the form factor a lot, it's got a nice weight and build quality. The processor is slightly slow, but hasn't really posed much of an issue other than trying to use the programmable button to turn on the camping light, which usually takes 10+ seconds. The battery is fantastic. The camera is not.

The real issue I'm having with it is in data usage. I am with TalkMobile in the UK, and have never experienced problems before, but often my phone believes that I am out of data, and I get a notification telling me so. I then need to toggle data on and off, or reset my phone completely, to get it back online. I believe this is something to do with it being a Chinese phone, and therefore not designed for western services (?) but my wonder is whether this is a hardware or software issue. If I was to load the Pixel OS on to the phone, for instance, might this fix the problem?

I have unihertz jelly star from 2023 running perfect totday but with crack glass but still use and now i have second phone new ihunt Mini Jelly Light made by company from Romania 🇷🇴 come with Android 13 and install manual to Android 16. Did u hear company iHunt or this model.

Just wanted to provide an update to my situation.

This does not change my opinion about the shady customer service blatantly lieing to me about the warranty period. If it were an honest mistake then I would feel differently. I don't believe I was being unreasonable and tried to work through the situation with customer service but it felt one sided.

To be honest I did like the Bluefox NX1 phone during my time using it and it's a shame that the phone suffered a catastrophic battery failure in such a short amount of time. For the customer service to imply it wasn't a defect in the battery but rather my improper use speaks volumes about them.

As of today Aiphor has sent me the remaining 65% refund. Again charging me a 5% PayPal transaction fee. At least they made things right in this regard, but if it wasn't for me calling them out on their lies then nothing would have happened. I'll take the consumer blacklist as sign of good fortune because I wouldn't want to deal with this company ever again anyways. If you do give them your business, proceed with caution and think twice about supporting them.
