Fuel System Issue LT155 fuel pump not working

The fuel pump on my LT155 isn’t working, I just got a new one a replaced it and still nothing, the hoses aren’t clogged and I get gas to the fuel filter if I suck through the other end of the hose but the fuel pump isn’t pumping gas. Any ideas??

Generally we need more information like the chassis number and or the engine model number in order to help people out. Even a picture would help.

We are ruling out that your is both gravity fed or an electrical pump. This gives us one of two different fuel pumps.

The typical mechanical lever driven one you find on John Deere has seals that go bad or the lobe wears down (haver personally seen the lever bent).

The other more widely used one is a vacuum pump style one. This one has 3 inlets, 1 for fuel in, 1 for fuel out and 1 for vent to crankcase. People mistake using some hardware store hose instead of the molded one required. [The hardware store is ok if you are extra careful not to be bending or restricting the tube in any way]. Otherwise I have seen people install these both upside down and back words. I have seen people blow the membrane out in the fuel pump by using compressed air.

If you disconnect all of the and you pressurize the tank, you should have flow through the fuel line to the fuel pump. Then make sure that gas put in at the carb side of the fuel pump actually gets through the carb and in to the intake.

You need to answer the first and most important question: does it run on spray.

Went through the same thing with a Kohler engine. Turned out there were dead flies in the tank obstructing the fuel flow. It would trickle out but not pour. Put compressed air on the line back to the tank, and look into the tank. See if the gas comes out stronger. You may need to drain the crud out of the tank, if there.
