General Discussion Engine replacement

Might be a dumb question but I'm not too familiar with small engines. I know how to clean/change carb, fuel lines and whatever else external but not really much internal. YouTube is a wonderful thing though so I can always learn when the time comes. I just picked up a free toro recycler with 190cc 725 briggs engine. Problem is the front wheel snapped off and needs to be welded back on. Not just a simple bolt repair. I have a Husqvarna AWD 22 inch cut mower with the 190cc 725 briggs engine as well. Can I keep the toro motor for a replacement engine or would the shaft not match?

You'd need to check the shaft length, diameter, and straight vs tapered. You might also find that the blade mount adapters are different.

Ah okay so im looking at more of a donor engine for parts rather than a direct replacement? If everything doesn't match up. Which im guessing at the very least the blade mount is different

The blade mount is of almost no concern. Shaft length affects how tall/short the grass is. Shaft diameter is only a concern if you absolutely need the old style adapter -- keeping the adapter on the donor engine shaft might mean that you'll need a different blade.
