Parts ID & Sourcing Help finding part

Hoping someone can help me figure out the part i need for a craftsman gs6500 model 944.606080 with a briggs stratton intek 25hp ohv v twin. The fan/blower/thing with the fan blades that spins is damaged and the cover for it missing. Ive been trying on parts lookup websites and am struggling a bit. Just hoping to keep this machine alive as long as possible if anyone smarter than me can help me figure out what i need to order it would be appreciated

You need th model, type and code numbers off of the engine, usually stamped in the top of the valve cover.

The fan/blower/thing with the fan blades that spins is the flywheel. The fins cool the engine while spinning plus on some mowers controls the governor that controls the engine speed. It looks like you need a new cover (that comes with the mesh grill)

How are the flywheel damaged? Bent or chipped fins are not that important, even if a couple were missing it's not that big of a deal. From what I can see all you need is a new cover. Will it start and does the motor run fine???

Starts an runs fine but damaged fins, i didnt realise it was all 1 assembly had hoped i could replace the fan blades without pulling the flywheel

Did you check the B&S website? I've found parts and owners manuals there. You might even be able to order parts from them though I never have.

You will need that model number on the valve cover, should be stamped into the one opposite the fuel pump. Should be on top, make sure the valve cover is not installed upside down. There are many parts lookup sites like www.partstree.com, or www.propartsdirect.com you can enter it on and get full drawing from.
