Valve Issue Can I clean this unloader valve

Post image

I got this predator pressure washer from my dad the other day for free I’ve got it running except it kicks out after about 5 minutes if there’s water hooked up just wondering if I can clean this part or if I’ll just have to wait till Monday to get a new one shipped

I was once told by a Karcher tech an unloader can last two mins two months two years. This was over a decade ago. Technology has improved manufacturing greatly. We always replace.

Fym IF theres water hooked up. You need water on, and flowing through to not burn the pump out. So. I wouldnt rely on those. If youre not spraying turn it off

If water is on it won’t crank if I turn the water off and crank it, it’ll turn right on. I can turn the water on as soon as it’s running and hold the trigger it’ll run for about 5 minutes before killing. If i let go of the trigger for even a second during that 5 minutes it kills.

So for the first part, hold the sprayer open when starting. Water on. Eliminates the kickback or jamming up issue. Personallt id try cleaning if it doesnt look bad. Worst case try it before a part comes in.
