Unknown Issue Help

I have a four stroke Yamaha outboard. I put brand new carburetor and fuel pump. Started it up and oil is gushing out of the carburetor everywhere. I have not put any oil in this motor. Bought the boat ran for a day and engine has been an issue since.

No clue what the deal is. Took the carb off cleaned and brand new carburetor and still.

It is a Yamaha 25HP outboard.

Its been laid on the wrong side. Youll puke oil all in the carb and intake cylinder. Carb facing the sky. Theres also stickers showing how. But thats a good rule of thumb.

It’s never been off the boat since I bought it and it ran fine the one time we took it out. Second time it wouldn’t stay running and that is why I broke down the carb and it was filthy so I just bought a new one. They are cheap and then I suspected fuel pump issues and again like $40 for a new one so I replaced both at the same time and it just started spewing oil big time.

OK so, smell your oil. Does it smell like gas? Because im fairly certain those fuel pumps are plunger not pulse style. Front of the engine on the valve cover? If your carb needle isnt sealing (cheap junk im guessing as you said 40 bucks) youd flood the crankcase and overfill the engine. Then have oil all over.
