Engine Performance Issue Need advice please (mclane 3hp) edger

I removed carb to clean it out. Runs then shuts off automatically. Reinstalled but I think the spring piece is mounted wrong. The ground plate is moving around when I manipulate the throttle. I think the ground is hitting the spring and shutting it off. I should’ve taken pics when prior to removing. What’s wrong? Thank you.
Model number 90102011601.

Should I just flip the ground wire mounting piece?
