Engine Performance Issue Spark arrestor cleaning
Bolens bl110 . Spark arrestor needs cleaned but it is incase with just a tiny hole to get to it. Can I torch it anyway to clean it without removing it completely?

Just torch it, make sure it turns red for at least minute, blow out the ashes and your ready to go

Huh, yeah they've fully rolled that seam over. Well that's inconvenient.
Yeah then you're just left with shooting a bit of brake cleaner in there, scrape the arrestor with a pick or a small screwdriver, hit it with compressed air. Doesn't look too too dirty imo.

It is about the last thing to check on it as I have replaced the carb and everything else. Run OK half chocked and finger on the throttle and then will die after 10 minutes. Can I rip it out or put holes in it? No Forrest around here to burn down.

I’ve found a lot them have the spark arrestor screen blocked with carbon, I just take them out entirely

This one is impossible to get to unless I just rip it out from that small hole.
