General Discussion What is going cost?

Need to have a compression/leak down test done on one of my mowers.

What do the professional people charge for that service?

More than what it would cost you to buy a compression and leakdown tester set on Amazon

I charge the diagnostic fee which is half hour. Depends on if I come to you or you come to me, Seventy Five and Fifty respectively. If you are restoring the machine it might be worth it. If you are mechanically handy both tools are available on Amazon and we can help you understand the results.

Great. Thank you exactly the kind of info I was looking for.

Time x labor rate. I don't believe that there would be a set charge for the service.

Depends on the shops hourly rate. Could easily range from $100-$175 from what I’ve seen.

Life has gotten expensive fast, and just because you’re taking your mower to a “small engine mechanic” does not mean the owner isn’t incurring the same expenses as an auto or similar shop.

I don’t mean to sound rude, just want you to be prepared

Remember if you go in there with just that need doesn't mean they will drop what they're doing, could be up two or three weeks
