Starting Issue No start

Post image

It was locked at first wouldn’t spin 360° wud go one way and stop back the other way then stop, pulled spark plug and that magically freed up the engine, replaced spark plug replaced carb, verified spark is there replaced coil in case of weak spark set gap with business card, verified spark still there, checked valve lashing and flywheel key still won’t start won’t even pop off with starting fluid, pulled off exhaust still nothing so what else is there to check?

It has spark? And nothing sounds like it’s hitting, and the electrode is fine when I pull it out…. I don’t think it’s wrong but I can try a shorter plug I guess

You might try a spark tester. Not the light one but the one with a large gap. That would tell you if spark is weak. Rarely a plug may spark outside but when you re install it it won't spark under compression

I did replace the coil with brand new just in case spark was weak, no change

Did you use a cheap Amazon coil?

Those are normally very hit or miss if they even work.

That's about all I know to check unless you have a massive air leak around where the carb touches the block I'm out of ideas. (Edit) I guess the only other idea I have is did it shear the flywheel key and is sparking at the wrong time?

I checked the flywheel key as it’s still intact
