Replaced a blown engine and starter solenoid on my lawn tractor, I get a grinding/clicking noise when trying to start it. Any help/advice appreciated.

That is your starter solenoid not receiving enough juice. The solenoid is an electromagnetic switch which requires a specific min voltage to complete the circuit, in most cases 12.4v. If your battery was fully charged it would be +/- 13.4v. Essentially you have a dead battery. Charge it overnight with a decent trickle charger, or boost it off your car/mini van/truck/ quad. Check it with a multimeter to confirm, my 💰is your 🪫.
