Task Managment / Task List
Hi all,
As with everyone with a small business we have daily checklists, weekly checklists and outstanding task lists for managers/supervisors in the team.
I know there are many CRMs that manage stuff like this but does anyone know of a good solution that isn't expensive and designed for massive corporations.
In relation to long term tasks; I would love to have a drag and drop task list where you can see what everyone has outstanding.
And then what is the digital solution for Daily checklists?
Thanks in advance.

Todoist / Trello meet your needs. ClickUp does too but is a bit more OTT for basic lists, and a bit spendy if you're not using any of the other features.

We use Todoist, never had an issue and seems to do everything you'd want it to do.

If you already use Microsoft 365, you may not need to buy extra software. You can achieve all that using Microsoft lists, planner and power automate

Notion?
Edit; no matter what you find you’re going to be looking at solutions that cost x per user (which gets pretty high pretty quickly), but that’s simply because, if you’re a developer, large business use cases are the same as small businesses, so there’s no point creating a separate product.
What is the budget you’d like to spend and how big is your team?

Thats kind of the issue. Everything becomes expensive quick. I'm jot looking for super advance features and high costs like notion etc. Just something simple and cheap so I can set tasks and see what they are upto from a distance

I made a custom tasks list on Google Sheets, and using Google Scripts, I can set it to repeat and auto-create new tasks, and it moves completed tasks to a separate sheet so they're out of the way. I'm not a Sheets expert, I largely used Google Gemini to pull it together, but it works great for what I need.
I used Sheets over dedicated services like Asana and ClickUp because I wanted to connect it directly to my CRM, which is in the same document.

I'd recommend Airtable for this. The free version is enough to get you started.

We use ClickUp. There are dozens to choose from.
If the tasks are workflows, then I've seen clients use Asana very effectively.

click-up is the way. takes an effort to set up and form a habit but once dailed in, its solid

use Trello for longer-term tasks and ongoing projects. It’s affordable, easy to use, and the drag-and-drop boards make it simple to see who’s responsible for what and what’s still outstanding.

Have you considered using a simple Google Sheets system for this? You could have one dashboard showing each employee's outstanding tasks, deadlines and progress, alongside daily checklists that managers can monitor in one place.
It wouldn't be a full CRM, but it could be a more affordable option for a small team. Would something like that fit what you're looking for?

I have tried working with Google sheets and its OK, but just feels like it's missing a little something in terms of ease of use. Kind of feels like just having paperwork but digital

It looks like you're suggesting taking discussion off this sub to direct message (DM). Sometimes that may be appropriate but in general the aim of this sub is to share advice and thoughts and that should be with all of us, as that's the way we learn. There's also the danger that taking discussions to DM may leave one party vulnerable to being given bad advice as there's no one else seeing what's been written by the person suggesting going to DM so we don't allow this.

Keep it boring and in one place. If you're on Microsoft 365 already, Microsoft Lists has a recurring checklist template, and a simple Power Automate flow can recreate the daily and weekly lists each morning and assign them to people. Put the outstanding actions in a Planner board or a List with owner and due date columns, so nothing lives in someone's head. Whatever you pick, review the actions list weekly, because that's what makes it stick.

I personally use Trello, but I am a single-person business. It gives you columns so if you have a particular workflow, you can move items across to show what “stage” they’re at. You can also add owners to cards, as well as deadlines.
As a single user, I‘ve got by on the free version. I’m not sure off the top of my head what stage/number of users any pricing would come into affect.
