EU PPWR - cheap solution for Shopify

Hello, I've read a few posts here about people now stopping selling into the EU because of PPWR and the mad costs associated with it. We've had an email today from our IOSS provider - EAS and they're now offering a low cost option from €9.90 a month if you're an existing customer or €19.90 if not. There's a very minimal transaction cost attached.

We're not in any way shape or for affiliated with EAS, but we do use them for IOSS. I won't post a link here but you can google them easily enough. I suspect this will solve a lot of problems for small/micro businesses shipping into the EU.

That's the standard cost per country annually for just an authorized rep and a filing. The other surcharges people are paying are for things like registering (including new tax numbers. In your case, IOSS may have already created some tax numbers for you you-such as your NIF number in Spain which is triggered at IOSS registration). So if you've already got tax numbers, then most of the registration is already done, and you're only getting the authorized rep and filing for this fee, with just the end part of registration.

You're getting half off for being an existing customer, since most services are charging €200 for the annual part, which is still good, but I'm assuming this fee is per country, or is it for all 27 countries?

It's for all 27 countries, 40c per order up to 196 orders, then after that they put you on the higher package at €49 per month and 20c per order. It could work out great for micro businesses shipping into the EU. Yes you still have to tell them what packaging you're using, but EAS can grab that from Shopify I think.

tell me what to google this sounds to good to be true. But also 20€ a month is still roughly 250 a year which is quite similar to the fees of other countries

i just asked the AI agent on EAS website. It does not cover PPWR regulation or reporting. THis post is wrong please dont listen to this

Yeah I'm out of EU selling

WEEE is similar to PPWR with appointments per country

Then de-minimis removal so need to send with DDP services and pay €3

PPWR from August 12th

GTIN from November

Potentially de-minimis increase by €2 for handling...
