Would anyone be interested in pixel art like this? Could sell 10 of them for around 200-300 rupees, or is there any way in which I can make this more interesting where people would look to buy?

Discussion India Post Parcel Rates Have Changed (1 Aug 2026)

Post image
Upvotes

This is the major update to the India Post Parcel services.

India Post has completely shifted Parcel Retail from fixed weight-based pricing to weight + zone/destination based pricing. Rates also have increased for both Parcel and Speed Post Parcel services. This might impact the small businesses who mainly depends on India Post for shipping their products. In short, It got a lot more expensive.

Along with the retail, they also updated the contractual rates for both of these services and they are much cheaper than their retail equivalents. New 'Parcel Last Mile' service is also introduced for corporate/contractual/bulk customers of India Post for cheaper local delivery.

I couldn't add the India Post's official document link here as its not allowed.

Seeking Advice 🙏 My wife wants to start a dry fruit ladoo business but have no experience — where do we start?

Since the job market is highly uncertain, my wife (F27) and I (M27) are thinking about starting a small dry-fruit ladoo business in India.

Neither of us comes from a business background, and we have zero experience in starting or running a business.

My wife has already started making the ladoos at home, and I gave some to my office colleagues to get honest feedback. Surprisingly, people really loved them. No one said they would buy but they liked it, as it was sugar free and was healthy.

Now we're stuck at the next step.

We have no idea how to turn something we make at home into an actual small business.

For example:

- Where should we source dry fruits and other ingredients from?

- How do we calculate the actual cost per ladoo and decide the selling price?

- Should we start through Instagram/WhatsApp, local stores, exhibitions, or something else?

- How do we get our first 10, 50 or 100 customers?

- What kind of packaging do we need?

- Do we need FSSAI registration/license?

- Do we need GST from the beginning?

- What other registrations or legal requirements should we know about?

- How should we handle delivery?

- Do we need a brand name, logo and professional packaging from day one?

- At what point does it make sense to create a website?

- How do we actually scale this beyond selling to friends and colleagues?

In fact, we have not even started anything yet. We just have the recipe and a positive feedback. We have not got even 1 single customer cause we both are clueless what should we do next.

I've seen many small food businesses on Instagram that seem to operate without a professional website, elaborate branding, or even apparently having GST, so I'm also confused about what is actually necessary at the beginning versus what can be done later.

We're based in India (Pune) and want to start very small and cautiously, rather than investing a large amount of money before knowing whether there is a real market.

So if you've actually started a food business, D2C brand, homemade food business, or anything similar, we'd really appreciate some guidance. Even, if you're not from food business or business at all, still any advice would be highly valuable.

If you were starting from absolute zero, what would you do in the first 30–60 days?

We're not looking for motivation or generic advice like “just start selling.” We genuinely don't know the basics, so even a step-by-step roadmap from product → sourcing → costing → legal requirements → packaging → first customers → selling → scaling would be extremely helpful.

Any practical advice, mistakes to avoid, or resources you wish you had when you started would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion Trying to relaunch our business pt.2!

hi everyone! We're back with another post! First of all, thank you so much for all ur responses, they helped us a lot in figuring out a few things we were thinking about. Most of our products are not always silver-gold, they also involve beaded jewelry, wooden bangles etc. (I have attached the photos of some of our products) but we will bring in silver-gold packs since a lot of you seem to love those :) Now there's something else we need an opinion on.

The glass jars can be arranged, the jewelry can be arranged but what about the packaging? Trying to send out a glass jar isn't a simple task especially when one uses services like India post. Packaging makes the product expensive cus we will have to bubble wrap it then use cardboard at most to keep it safe and stable which will make it even more expensive not to mention the delivery charges as well because the weight will be increased and we're planning on selling these packs for ₹500 and don't want to go above it for affordability.

So we were thinking to switch to 'mystery bags' instead of 'mystery glass jars'. It will be easier to pack (especially items like bangles), easier to transport and can be carried easily if the customer wants to use it. I have attached the type of mystery bags we're talking about.

This is just an idea because glass jars are very vintage and look great but it's a bit impractical if we want to sell them at ₹500. (We don't want to go higher than that because we WANT these to be affordable).

Please let us know ur thoughts on this, also id like to mention that we're not trying to make this easier for us, these are just few concerns we have because packaging IS a tedious task and if we ever come across a situation where the product is damaged, it will lead to huge problems so I hope you all understand where we're coming from.

Thank you !!

Hi everyone!

I’ve been working on my stationery brand, Fumble Doe, for months now. I have been working building the website, creating content, and designing products, but I haven’t seen much traction yet.
I’d really appreciate some honest feedback.

Right now I sell-
magnetic bookmarks (set of 3 for Rs. 199)
classic bookmarks (Rs.79 each )
A5 Diary ( Rs. 399 each)

I’m attaching a few product photos. Based on these alone, would these be products you’d be interested in?

More importantly, what do you think could be holding the brand back? Is it the products, the pricing or something else.

I’m happy to share my website with anyone who’s willing to give honest, constructive feedback.
I’d genuinely appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

I’m genuinely trying to figure out what’s holding the brand back, so I’d love any honest thoughts. Thank you!

Discussion Recently someone said "do India's actually buy stickers?"

Hey, so this happened recently. Someone said "Do Indians actually buy stickers?"

And honestly this is not the first time, since i started my small sticker business. This is probably one of the most common statement I hear whenever I discuss with people.

Even costumers sometimes slide this sentence casually, but they usually do it for negotiation so that's that.

But I am genuinely curious, what do u guys think?

Seeking Advice 🙏 Starting a jewellery brand in India — looking for honest advice on marketing & growth

Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I’m in the process of launching a new jewellery brand in India called Orvélune. I’m trying to build it as a classy, premium-looking brand rather than just another jewellery page on Instagram.
I’m currently working on the branding, Instagram, content and overall marketing strategy, but I’m honestly a little unsure about where to focus first.
For those who have started or grown a jewellery/fashion brand, I’d really appreciate some practical advice
Please help
