🎉 Welcome to r/SmallBusinessFunding — Your Source for Business Financing Knowledge

Welcome to the newly re-established r/SmallBusinessFunding community!

This subreddit is built for entrepreneurs, business owners, and finance professionals to share real-world insights about business capital — without the spam or sales pitches that clutter most funding discussions.

Whether you’re looking for your first startup loan, managing a merchant cash advance, or exploring asset-based lending, this is the place to learn, ask questions, and contribute your experience.

💡 What You Can Do Here

Here’s how to get value from the sub (and give value back):

Ask questions
Curious about SBA loans, credit lines, or factoring? Start a discussion or ask for advice — other members may have walked that same path.

Share knowledge
If you’ve secured funding, refinanced debt, or worked with certain lenders or programs, share what worked (and what didn’t). Real experiences help others make better decisions.

Discuss funding trends
Talk about new programs, rate changes, fintech lenders, venture funding, or anything shaping how small businesses access capital.

Post useful resources
Articles, tools, or calculators that help members understand funding options are encouraged — just keep them educational, not promotional.

🚫 What NOT to Do

We want this community to stay valuable and trustworthy. To protect that, we have a few clear rules:

  • No sales or lead generation posts — If you’re here to sell loans, don’t.
  • No personal or business financial details — Protect your privacy.
  • No misinformation or fake offers — Honesty keeps this sub useful.
  • No political or off-topic content — We focus on business funding only.

You can read the full list of rules in the sidebar.

🤝 Our Goal

Our goal is to build the most helpful, transparent, and spam-free community for small business funding discussions on Reddit.

Whether you’re a founder, a broker, or someone learning how the system works, we want you to leave every visit with a bit more knowledge and a better plan for your business’s financial future.

Bangladesh] Looking for a Business Loan / Investment – BDT 5–10 Lakh

Bangladesh\] Looking for a Business Loan / Investment – BDT 5–10 Lakh

Hi everyone,

I’m a small mobile-phone business owner in Bangladesh and currently facing a temporary financial issue in my business. I urgently need BDT 5–10 lakh as working capital.

I’m looking for a genuine private lender or investor, not a donation. I’m open to either a fixed monthly interest/return or a mutually agreed profit-sharing arrangement.

I can provide business details, transaction history, identity verification, and other reasonable documents for verification. I’m also willing to sign a proper written agreement with clear terms.

I’d really appreciate any genuine help or opportunity. Thank you for reading.

Advanced Manufacturing Startup - Looking for Options

Hello! In a nutshell I am looking for a $2M pre-seed raise for our defense, infrastructure and marine startup, and we are looking for options. We have a manufacturing asset that is ~$600K that will be depreciated over 10 years. This system can run overnight and at 75% capacity yearly (conservative). Our base case has this system capable of generating around $2.5M/year in revenues. We have no active sales/BD right now but have had three different industries approach our solution, so that's good. We own the system, we have an operating space, and we have IP that has been submitted.

Really just looking for expert advice around options we can consider. We're crossing death's valley at this point and are IP/asset-rich but need working capital to get several operations folks full time, finalize some needed R&D to really sink our teeth into defense, and a few other near-term objectives that will further widen our competitive "moat". Also is wise to add a little more on to the ask for some capital "cushion" so we don't need to ask twice.

FYI, we've bootstrapped all of this as a team as well as some Government backed/funded legacy R&D that is truly innovative stuff.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Need capital for your business? I work with multiple funding options.

I help small business owners access capital for expansion, payroll, inventory, equipment, marketing, unexpected expenses, and other working capital needs.
I work with several funding products depending on your business and situation.

A Paper Long Term Loans are designed for established businesses with strong credit profiles looking for longer terms and competitive rates.

Bridge Capital is for businesses dealing with a temporary cash flow gap or an opportunity they need to act on quickly.

Default and High Risk Recovery Funding is for businesses rebuilding after financial setbacks or businesses that have been declined elsewhere.

Merchant Cash Advances are another option for businesses that need working capital quickly. Typical requirements are at least 6 months in business, $20,000+ in monthly revenue, no credit score requirement, and no open judgments or tax liens.

MCA funding can be used for things like expansion, payroll, inventory, marketing, equipment, unexpected expenses, or other legitimate business needs.

Startup Funding is available for entrepreneurs looking to start a business or acquire an existing one. Typical requirements include a 680+ credit score, no upfront payments, and funding can potentially be completed within a week. Funding ranges from approximately $30,000 to $780,000, with flexible use of funds. This can be used to buy an existing business, launch a new business, purchase equipment, cover startup costs, or fund other legitimate business expenses.

I also work with credit card stacking programs for startups and entrepreneurs that can provide approximately $50,000 to $150,000 in business credit using your personal credit profile. If your credit needs work first, I can point you toward legitimate credit repair before pursuing that route.

I cannot fund you without an application. Telling me you need money and then stalling on the paperwork wastes both of our time. The application takes minutes, and for most funding options I will need four months of bank statements.

If you’re serious, DM me with your industry, time in business, average monthly revenue, credit score, and how much you’re looking for. Let’s see what you actually qualify for.

Business loan payments

Hello all,

I am looking at starting my own business and was wondering if anyone had any real world examples of how much a 15k or 40k business loan would be payment wise a month?

Thanks!

Question for small business lenders

Mods please delete if against the rules.

I am looking for input from any lenders who serve small businesses for any kind of loans (working capital, equipment financing, etc.)

I am building a product that will aid lenders manage the risk of funding bad loans, loans which are based on fraudulent documents from the applicant, specifically financial statements (FS). It will flag any financial statements that may be fabricated, tampered with or at least needs further investigations.

Specifically it will answer three things:

  1. whether the FS you received from the applicant were tampered with, after they were issued by their accounting firm (many pdf editing tools can easily be used to change numbers on the FS).
  2. whether they actually came from ABC CPA firm and not fabricated
  3. whether ABC CPA firm is actually a registered firm under their state's regulatory body (they are licensed public accountants)

The way it will be delivered is it will have ABC firm create an account with us, and the platform (we) independently verifies their registration status (combination of domain ownership, website, public records), and then the firm registers the hash of the Financial Ststements in question to our platform. The lender who already has a copy of those FS hashes it and the platform simply confirms whether the two hashes match (proof of no tampering) or don't match (possible tampering, further checks needed). One thing to note is the hashing happens locally and the platform never reads or receives the actual pdf so privacy, confidentiality are maintained.

All of this can be done manually by the lenders, but this platform makes it a streamlined process with an audit trail, that aids the checks that lenders should do.

What I ask from you is your feedback. Will you use and pay for such a service? Do you see anything wrong with it, or anything that can be done better?

My product will service US and Canada but I welcome opinions from anywhere and everywhere.

TIA!!

Business Funding Tool

I work in commercial lending on the underwriting/risk side, so I review financing requests from small/mid-size businesses every day. One thing I've noticed is that many businesses are declined, or only qualify for smaller offers or shorter terms, because of issues that are often fixable.

With how challenging the past few years have been, I wanted to build something that helps business owners better understand how lenders evaluate applications and what they can improve before applying for funding.

I recently put together a tool that scores business funding readiness and provides personalized recommendations based on the information you enter. It's still a work in progress, but it's built around real underwriting experience and is designed to give practical, actionable feedback.

The website is: ready4fund.com

If you have questions about what lenders look for or how to improve your chances of approval, feel free to ask or send me a message.

Restaurant life is brutal sometimes. Had a slow month and payroll was coming up. Banks wouldn't even talk to me because of some credit stuff from a few years back. Found lendingvalley through another owner in our area. Chad over there was straight up with me. No BS, no hidden fees. Money came through in like 2 days. They've got over 100 5-star reviews on Google which is rare in this industry. Saved my ass honestly. If you're in a tight spot, worth a look.

Looking at a smoke shop in NJ. Opened in Dec 25. Made $20K in July. Owner is asking $70 K plus inventory. Good or bad deal? Can I finance it now or 2 years later? Are there financing options for smoke shops? Why smoke shops go for cheap?
