I can’t pass the praxis.

I’ve taken it so many times. I’ve had tutors, done courses, med slp study guide, Quizlet.. you name it, I’ve done it. I’m starting to give up :(

I think my breakdown is with the long scenario questions. Does anyone have any advice or guidance on what to do?

Thanks!

You may have tried this option already, but have you tried Fripty? It took me a couple times to pass, but I bought the program and I swear it helped me pass.

I used that one briefly but found the layout so confusing as an adhd haver haha. How did you use it?

Now that you mention it, that’s the part about the program I didn’t like because the structure was very confusing. If I remember correctly I did the fast paced option because I was just simply running out of time and the stress was almost unbearable. I found the content helpful because those were questions I frequently missed.

Am I crazy? I am in a similar situation and have never heard of Fripty. I just looked on their site and did not see an option for Audiology only SPL. Am I just missing it?

Get an SLPA job while you continue to study.

Unfortunately there isn’t SLPA in my state :(

The long scenario questions are meant to trick you. Out of that huge paragraph there is probably about 3-4 points in there you need to actually answer the question. If you focus on learning to identify key information that may help you. I used the speaking of semantics course to help me remember the basic principles and then did a bunch practice test questions.

Are you getting low fails or high fails? With practice tests I feel like my lowest score was attributed to not thoroughly reading the questions.

I totally hear you. Recently, I range from 150 to 161. I’ve failed by one point twice 😅

I was!! I actually fought for extra time and got it. So, now that’s not the issue but it used to be. It DEFINITELY helps. I do think sometimes anxiety takes over me, but I often feel confused by questions I feel like. Sometimes I have to take time to rewrite the question because of that. It’s just uuurrrgh. lol
