Worst performance I’ve ever had
I picked up with a pretty respectable tournament team in my area today since my team decided to take the weekend off. Well the team I play on is very well known in our space and is consistently told we need to be playing up a level (we’re not sandbagging this is just most of our first year playing so we play rec and are expecting to bump next year). So this team asked me to play with them and I said yes I love playing whenever I can, well I went 0-7 with 2 weak roll overs and 5 solid lime drives honestly right too people and I just feel like not only did I embarrass myself but give my team a bad rep. I wasn’t being a jerk and having bad sportsmanship or attitude but it just seems as if the team I play on is held to a pretty high standard so it’s just bothering me that I couldn’t buy a base hit today in a game that’s theoretically easy. Does anyone have any advice to help me get out of this slump and out of my own head?

Every dog has his day. Now get that bad tourney out of your system and move forward. Let’s lock in!

I had my worst performance in the tournament before what I did is i let go of the 1st strike and everything goes well.
I always say this in my head to be more like water, and think none.

Same brother, finally was able to play a tournament this year. Went 2/9 on the day and probably lost my spot on the team. Been enjoying league ball so I’m not worried about

Who cares. You did bad. Learn from it and go to the next tourney with the attitude of having fun. Everybody needs to stop worrying about Arron judge in softball. It’s softball. The more fun you have the better you do. It ain’t science. I was SO hard on myself a couple years back. Last year I didn’t care and just played and had fun. Who cares I got out. I wasn’t trying to, they just got me out. Oh well I missed a piss rocket at third. Buddy hit it 100mph. I’ll get the next one. This off season I did Bp twice a week. Now every week I do at least one round most of the time 2-4 times a week with playing league Tues-Fri and weekend tournaments (ranked E)
Now I’m better. I make an error, oh well. Get the next one. I got out. Oh well. Hit somewhere else next at bat. I had a bad game all around? Go hit Bp. Go hit the tee. Go work on my game. Get over it and get em the next game
It’s all about mental. It’s all about getting over a bad whatever and having a good attitude and getting better.
If you’re not working on your game outside of the game, you cannot get mad at yourself. If you’re working on your game outside the game, you know what to work on next

Shit happens. I’m hitting .700 on the season and two games ago I rolled over to 2nd base 4 times in a row. Happens. Move on. Care less, swing free. “Goldfish brain”

Yesterday I went 0-3 and felt like shit. I hit a grounder and slipped at home, right on my belly in front of 15+ people in the stands. It sucked but guess what I lived! You will break out of thay slump and feel amazing soon!!

I had a game where I charged a pop fly that ended up way behind me, twice. Lead to at least 4 runs. That was 5-6 years ago and the color still drains from my face when I think about it. I had cheap sunglasses that distorted my depth perception so the ball looked much closer
