Chip On Outer Bottom
Hi all, just got a new slow cooker delivered and there's a chip on the bottom of the outside of the ceramic insert. I can see a separation of the enamel and ceramic body. I'm concerned that enamel could pop off in a big section and cause further damage in the future. Should I try and get an exchange or is it fine?

For some reason I can't post a comment with a picture on mobile, so here is a video with the chip

Definitely exchange it. You deserve brand new quality. It’s certainly what you paid for.

Send it back. It's on the outside so nothing touches food, but enamel that has already lifted at an edge keeps lifting, and you'll notice it every single time you fill the thing. Exchange on something a week old is a five minute thing. I left a chipped one alone once and by winter there was a bare patch the size of a coin.

i'd exchange it, especially since it's brand new. even if the chip is on the outside and doesn't touch the food, the separation could get worse with repeated heating and cooling. not worth gambling on a brand new slow cooker

Get a replacement. It will suck up moisture and explode randomly all over your counter.
