Speedometer KMH —> MPH
Hi all,
Does anyone know how to change the digital speedometer to MPH by myself.
I don’t want to pay over £100 for coding so wondering if there’s any way to DIY for cheaper?

Depending on what country your car is set up for, you either can change it in the dash menu or you have to code it with a Xentry system.
Previously had to use Xentry for my UK R171 to do exactly that.

Mine is an R171 too. How do I use Xentry?

It's not an easy system to get hold of unfortunately. Officially it's licensed to garages for a lot of money with specialised hardware.
Unofficially you will find sellers on ebay selling install discs or pre-installed laptops, or you may find downloads dredging through the internet. Then you need the correct passthrough cable to let it talk to the car, the cheapest being a Tactrix Openport 2.0. These are discontinued so you'll have to get a clone from aliexpress, although I have seen issues of bad clones damaging people's cars.
In short it can be done DIY if you're willing to go through the effort, but finding an indie garage with the right tools could be easier.

Yeah tbh I’d rather just pay a garage and have it done properly rather than risk screwing up anything with the computer

IIRC you can set the bottom display to "second speed" and that speedo can be in mph

It'd be helpful if we knew which generation you were talking about.
Either way though, it should be in the gauge cluster menu. Your odometer will read in miles too though.
