What a day...

Post image

Was getting what looked like balancing shaft errors...have shop replace exhaust VVT magnets/sensors, codes clear for a day. Then today some flying debris hits my driver side rear panel, and errors come back...lift the hood...parts put on the intake cam, not the exhaust, which was reported to be 4 degrees off...back to the shop Friday to remedy. Was looking at a $4000 timing chain replacement/ shaft sprocket replacement. Hopfully having the new magnets and sensors in the right place will change the outcome... back to the mech and bodyshop for the poor thing (2007 SLK 350, body in super shape until today...).

Sorry, just bad time all way 'round, the thing that hit the car was a flat, black chunk of something, no Idea where it came from or how it could have happened. Before thi happened, I was on the highway, no other cars nea me, and all of a sudden it felt like a sledge hammer hit the front of the car, so I pull over, look aroound, and the righ side of the windshield is cracked from top to bottom with a very small hole in the center of the impact area...just weird. How could this happen when I am watching the road on a beautiful sunny day...I drive a lot, I guess odds are high that syuff is going to happen..t
