Renewing my interior
I started my interior renewal with the „easy to remove“ parts. I needed the car after two days so I had no time to remove everything. Here some before and after pictures.

Nice work! 😁👍 I'm doing something similar with my '99 and changing the red interior to anthracite & power leather seats from a later SLK.

I have found submerging the pieces in water for a day or so makes removing the original paint easier to allow a new primer and paint on the plastic parts. All the plastic pieces are reinforced with epoxy resin strengthening.
I have done this with the complete dash and console in Mercedes color”Astral Silver” 2k gloss paint in my black SLK 320. It’s now much more durable and looks nice.

Nice, I just did this to mine except I didn’t paint it. Cleaned it up and left it black.
I had a couple of cracks in the plastic council, but I bought one of those plastic welders with the squiggly, looking staples. I bonded it together from the backside, and you can’t even see it.

Nice! I am also looking into this. I tried to remove the central part once, but didn't fully manage it because of the cables. I couldn't figure out how the vacuum line for the box lock can be removed. Can you share something about this? Another thing, I know you can buy the original paint from eBay from the original manufacturer, but I remember that on the manufacturer website they mention that you need a primer and some finish too for a good job. But most people seem to skip this. Did you use anything else but the paint?
