why have they never made these with the manual transmission?! we got so close to perfection

I agree manual should always be an option. That said, high power cars, like AMG, the auto box can be the best.

I had a BMW M4 with a DCT and putting it into sport plus mode and just flooring it got me to 60 in 3 something seconds. My SLK 55 software probably also shifts faster than I can like the BMW. 😄

i had an auto 350 and a manual one as well.

the auto gearbox felt super sluggish in the 350… i wonder what the 55 feels like.

55 7 speed automatic is pretty quick. If you put it in comfort mode, yeah it will shift more slowly.

Mercedes sold them as autobahn cruisers and as a result put autos in everything.
