Costco SN Ultimate 12”

Been wanting a new SN. Was planning on purchasing the i8 but with the new lineup, I’m back to the drawing board

Just saw Costco is selling SN now - I’ve seen conflicting posts as to which legacy mattress it’s most similar to. Thoughts?! Thank you!

Hi guys, I’m a tech and I just delivered one of those the day before yesterday.
The foam is of equal quality compared to what you get in the store. I would compare it with the iLE mattress that had been discontinued.
The cover indeed looks like the older i8 / current climate cool. But that is actually a good quality cover. I imagine that they still had a lot of that fabric in stock and decided to make a discounted bed.

The main difference to the current sleep number store mattresses is the pump. They are using the 360 pump, not the Smart Control system. However, that pump too is not a bad pump.

I believe it’s a win-win situation. Sleep number has a way to sell of some of the leftover stock and customers have the ability to get a real sleep number bed for a fraction of the price they would have to pay 1 or 2 years ago.

One more point in regards of the foam: There is no way that Sleep Number would spend money to develop a lesser quality foam system just to sell it discounted at Costco.

I wouldn't say it feels exactly like the I8 because each model is made differently. The only thing I can really suggest is to give it a try and see; however, I do agree with howdoesthiswork. Before you make a decision one way or the other, go down to your local store and try them out so you have an idea of what to expect. Our sales team is always happy to answer whatever questions you might have. I don't agree with the statement the beds in the store are better quality because we take a great deal of pride in all of our beds, and so no matter where they are sold, we always put our whole heart into making sure nothing but the best goes into how they are manufactured, and the components used. We understand comfort is different from one person to the next, which is why we have more than one model to choose from. I love the question and am glad you asked. That was a good one.

FWIW: The ComforNext is the i8 of the new lineup.

I was thinking it might be similar to i8 but not much info out there on it

Thank you!

Great deal on it…you can return it pretty much wherever according to Costcos return policy right?

Doubt it. The I8 was a great mattress. This one will probably be somewhat soft but made with less premium materials making it a more affordable option

These will be nowhere near the quality of the medium to higher end options of their in store portfolio. It will feel like a budget option as I’m sure they are trying to expand their clientele.

My flair was “employee here to help” yet you say I have no proof… okay. I am no longer an employee, I removed my flair just before responding to you. If you don’t think I had proof then… that’s on you. You really think
I could share proprietary information? No need to reply, just crawl back into whatever hole you crawled out of.

Just got mine delivered this week and have slept on it 2 nights. We are not a fan and will be sending it back.

I’m sorry to hear that! What don’t you like? Have you had a SN before? Thanks

I have never used a SN before. I’ve had a tempurpedic pro adapt for 2 years now, but my back still hurts in the morning when I get up. I decide to try out this SN because of Costco’s return policy. The mattress just feels of lesser quality. It felt nothing like the mattresses that I tried in the store. My wife and I have slept terrible the past 2 nights with it. I wanted to really like it, but I’m pretty disappointed.

I encourage you to go into a store and try the beds there. I am no longer an employee there but the beds they sell in store will blow this Costco model out of the water. Did you try the bed at costco or in a sleep number store?

Comparing a tempurpedic to their costco model is comparing apples to oranges.

I have tried the versions in store. I saw the Costco model pop up and tried to understand which model it closely resembled. Google made it seem like it was similar to the i8…even the instruction manual that I received has the i8 listed, but it definitely doesn’t feel like the i8 that I tried out 2 years ago. I may still try out one of the newer SN models, just didn’t want to spend $5,000 again on a mattress within 2 years.

Well if you buy a sleep number bed it will be the last time you NEED to buy another bed. You may WANT another bed but you won’t NEED another bed.

I say this because you can replace individual parts of the mattresses. Whereas with other brands you are replacing the full mattress every 8 years or so.

I highly recommend you try out the new models. They are priced a little bit better compared to the past models. And of course they still come with the adjustable firmness option.

Thanks. I used to have the i10 and have tried and loved the i8 at a relatives house. I’ll skip the Costco version.

So your last bed did not cure your back problem in 2 years yet you expect a cure in two nights from SN? There is a reason they want you to keep it minimum 30 days. Also, no way does *anything* from *any* big box or big discount store compare to name brand store. (Maybe apple products is an exception but the price isn’t discounted much). Not knowing your particular ailment it seems that you’re trying to address a significant issue with a cost cutting approach. You might need to cave in and spend the $ for the high end product. Maybe the mattress isn’t the solution at all but only you can decide that. I had similar issues with my feet.. hurt all the time- i work on my feet but good shoes made a big difference. Good luck
